And I hope the NRL are ok with any player refusing to shake his hand. Players should not be put in the position to have to validate a 34 times convicted criminal, no matter that he's the president...pre ww2 Hitler was also the leader of Germany at the '36 Olympics and athletes from other countries openly shunned him. But if the nrl is comfortable with having trump then they should also welcome onto the field (to meet the players) the 1500 " patriotic J6 hostages" as he calls them!. Don't think for a second that Trump might not invite them himself....now THAT little awkwardness would be just what Vlandys would deserve!

I think the NRL would snap your hand off for the support of 51% of the US electorate.

51% of those who would tune in
Just so you know:
Trump got 49.8% of the vote or 77 million votes, Harris got 75 million, despite claims (surprise, surprise) counting votes to Independents Trump didn`t win the popular vote.
Trump winning actually got less votes than Bush 2004, Obama 2008 & 2012 and Biden in 2020 when they all won.
Despite Trump`s claim of a landslide, it wasn`t, yes he did win all the battleground states, but very narrowly. In the three states that decided the election, had 177 000 votes (out of 160 million odd votes nationwide) in those three states gone Harris`s way, Trump by now would be a footnote in history.
Please keep this in mind, Trump hasn`t the "massive mandate" he is claiming (of course) he is skating on thin ice, there are already some signs of pushback from within his own party despite their often shamefully pathetic servile manner towards him. Interesting days nonetheless.

Obviously more people in the US like him than those that don’t or he wouldn’t be president today.

it would be huge for the event in vegas, the NRL and RL in general.

Lesser of two evils. Likewise Clinton v Trump. He is disliked by the majority of human beings.

Yes it would be huge. He is like Paris Hilton in her hey day. Just a money making machine.

Not going to happen, there`s nothing in it for him, but it`d sure get some attention even he mentioned it.
Interestingly enough in the U.S. there does seem to be a rather disdainful attitude to NFL amongst certain demographics not unlike what League faces here, it`s just America is so damn big and wealthy it doesn`t really matter. We`ve partnered with UFC over there already, I don`t think attempting to attract some of Trump`s base is going to make things any worse.
It gets the Las Vegas event some column inches which is a plus.

There was talk of this last year with Biden and I’m gonna just reiterate the same thoughts I had then.

I don’t think the NRL being at the centre of the U.S whacko shitfight is a great idea. I don’t want smaller crowds because of Aussies protesting association.

WTF is Vlandy's thinking?
Why invite the vile and POS Trump, a convicted felon and rapist to the game when, (a) he won't come thank god and (b) you are dividing not only any fanbase in the US but also in Australia?

What a stupid, stupid thing to do.

Dont know if you notice, but capitalist elites have been bending the knee to trump for the past couple of weeks now.

And lets be honest, sporting organizations dont exactly have the cleanest history when it comes to autocrats

Trump hasn't hurt the UFC .
The " fake media " is even more fake and filtered in Australia. Trump is more popular than people realise because of this fake narrative and people simply privately enjoy watching someone just doing what's best for their country. You'll find the majority of working class ( rugby league people) either like Trump or are not bothered by those politics.
In any case, I absolutely guarantee that a Trump attendance would sell out twice over.
He's literally the most famous and influential person of modern history. The term " star power " doesn't even begin to cover it.
