Whilst this has all been going on, the Gold Coast Titans have activated the one year option clause in Garth Brennan's contract extending it another 12 months (i.e. it was a 2 year contract with a 3rd year optional in the club's favour)..

I can't blame him for going, tbh the Tigers are a basket case with moderate talent as opposed to the Panthers being a basket case with a lot of talent. It comes off grubby and yes has damaged his reputation so for his sake it better work out at the Panthers, otherwise other clubs will realize what a risk signing Cleary carries.

Moreso this is on the NRL and their incompetent management of the game. It is ludicrous that they have not brought in a rule to prevent poaching coaches > 12 months in advance as is the case with players but tbh would you expect Todd Greenberg and the dopes that work for him to have thought this through previously?

Well now that everyone is back in their own beds i guess he could share a little of that truth. Russell Packer is now back in the NRL and well established, highly regarded. Lodge may also be in time however whenever it's a slow news day or someone needs a headline, they'll wheel out the Lodge footage - outrage outrage outrage.

I can't fault Lodge since he came back to the NRL this year. And aside from his history, he played well all year in my opinion.

Quite a few of us didn't even want him. But, like underarm bowling at the time, if the rules don't say you can't do it, it means you can. Young Pascoe would still be wiping the egg off his face. That's what happens when you play with the big boys.
