I was hoping they were going to have a similar set up to the AFL's show On the couch. I was pretty disappointed to be honest

Replace James and Jess with people with an actual idea about footy and the show would improve tenfold.

I cant handle Warren Smith the centre of attention. Thank god he got the arse from NRL of fox its 1000 times better. I think the concept of league lounge is ok but the choice of people is wrong. They should have got all retired players from a couple of different eras. The AFL shows seem to get the format and mix right.

Christ some people are never happy....thought it was good and Brandy is one of the better league commentators around....leaves his bias at home

Leaves his bias at home? REALLY????
Must be a different bloke to who I've been listening to each week.

I didnt think it was a bad show, but at times probably a bit too relaxed.

Its a pretty good concept and I dont mind the celebrities on the couch giving their views about Rugby League. Maybe should be different next time.

Warren Smith is a good host for the show and Brandy is good as well.

It was a good show, unfortunate that Smith is on it.

Funny how we have another show, another lot of people bagging people off it.

Watched some of it in the cricket ads.

Who are they trying to appeal to with this show?

Hardcore league fans, who have already watch two league shows and two games for the day?

Casual league fans, who are watching god knows what already on a Sunday night?

James Mathison/Brendan Cowell fans?

Jess Yates is fine at what she does, but her presence screams tokenism.

Brandy was good, Smith was ok, almost everything else was either annoying or pointless.

What a waste of time.

I really liked it.

Talking League in a light hearted way without being Footy Show gay. I liked the the mathesion & cowell with a fan type perspective. All fans sound like nuffies at times (read this forum for an example) & I thought that was a good part of the show.

The female aspect is good they just have the wrong one, imo.

I don't get the Warren Smith hate.

The best NRL commentator we've got and he's got more of a clue than most of the ex-players.

Ryan Phelan doesn't know what day it is.

Give me Warren Smith over that mimbo anyday.

i didnt mind it, i kind of thought they might actually review the weekend's games at some point....

will keep watching because, frankly. its a show about league but i hope they increase the topical league content next week.

And piss the ditz off. No idea what demographic they are trying to appeal to with her.

I thought it was ok for the timeslot, there have already been a couple of review shows like Super Saturday & The Sunday Footy Show over the weekend to satisfy the serious discussion of issues from the games. By 8:30 on Sunday night, it's just casual chat mode.

Most shows have room for improvement after the first episode, but some try to achieve too much too quickly. Unfortunately, some shows just load up on content for the debut & fade quickly - a bit like some actors or musicians who have one good movie or album & become "One Hit Wonders" ( better than a No Hit wonder though )

Let's hope The League Lounge & the 2 NRL shows have some staying power.

Phelan is fine in his role, he just keeps the conversation flowing and rarely adds to it.

Smith on the other hand will hold up talk and go into these huge diatribes to try and one up anyone who disagrees with him.

Didn't mind his promo though and taking the mickey out of himself.

Phelan actually hosts the show and provides balance among the group, Warren Smith dominated the show and it was all about him. As a commentator he is good, as a host he is rubbish.
