iv.7!? U r lucky then! Most peeps start a division below that these days!

Here are some tips that i think u would find useful man!

(PART 1 - Part 2 to follow!)

First thing u should do is trim your squad - if u have been given any player with a MAJOR skill (any of these 4 - defending/winger/PLAYMAKING/scoring) less than INADEQUATE (i.e. Disastrous, Wretched, Poor or Weak)- fire 'em! They aint worth squat and are just draining your pockets in wages! LEECHES!! ;)

Then make your nest lineup from the players u DO have - decide what formation youd like to play - 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 are probably safest to start out with - depending on what players youve been given.

Now look @ your players, and see where there are 'gaps' in the lineup u want to play - i.e. any positions u dont have a player with at LEAST an inadequate major skill to fot in - and u should try & buy these players first with the $$$ u have been given - u should be looking for players major skills of PASSABLE or SOLID major skilld to survive in division IV!...U wont be able 2 afford better than these right now anyway!

DONT upgrade your stadium yet - u dont need to yet & its a mistake a lot of ppl make straight away - unless u already have, in which case - whoops! lol :p

EDIT: 4 major skills are Defending/Winger/PLAYMAKING (not passing as i had above! ) and scoring!...Sorry!

If I had 2mill in my Kitty (which I dont) I would buy a good coach and expand the stadium. Might buy a solid player with the leftovers if there would be any.

hey guys, great news.. a team came under my administration today!! :D

anyways, any hints on w4hat my first move should be??
team id:417109, i've already done a few things, for all i know too early maybe.
anyways i could use some good advice.
also i got put into IV.7, that might be a new league someone was talking about?

your in the new VI division champ (bottom division for the next season) but that will prob work in your favour as everyone is likely to be starting off as a new team just like you have or they will be computer teams until enough people sign up.

PART 2

the next thing u need 2 do is decide what u want to train - what major skill?
You might be awayed one way bcos u may have been given good young trainable players (U need players about 19 ir less to make it really worthwhile!) in one area, say defenders - then u could buy a few more 'trainee' defenders, who may not be as good as your main players - and so will play and improve their play in - your firendly games (played of a wednesday - or cup games) - but buy em young enough in say Inadequate or passable skills..and train em up! U can only train one skill at a time tho - so buy em all the same, like all defenders or etc...

I will check the skill of your coach....u may need a new one 'o them somewhere not too far down the track as well!

Oh and put 20k or 40k if u can afford it as your Youth Academy contributions...Something here is better than nothing @ this stage!

C how u go with that lot!! ;)

oh ok my bad, whatever you do dont expand the stadium lol!!!!

lol...Oh i just saw u posted that only after i posted my bit!

I dunno - but as filling your stadium's reliant on the # of supporters u have...new ppl shouldnt really have 2 expand their stadiums straight away - maybe in half to 1 season!...That $$$ is better served going on coaches and players/trainees first up IMO! That's why I said that... :)

Doesn't matter amigo Poida....friendlies add up to money and that's what you need when you start.....just don't accept a friendly overseas just yet as it cost you to travel....I know everyone has already said it but when you start off...steady as she goes! Don't go out and spend madly, in my first season I came 2nd last but by the time the season had finished I had nearly $900,000 in the bank plus I had improved the capacity of my stadium by 4000 (3000 terraces, the rest split up amongst the others) . Like Dog-E said, get you youth up on $40,000 straight away if you can because they will be your future a couple of seasons down the track, get a decent keeper if the one you have is less than inadequate and get your players training!

you need an economist!! haha i mean not that i'd know, but you havent got one!

Nah u only need them if ure in debt, or if u habe millions in the bank - they just help with interest on debt etc.

Also doctors - u only need doctors if yr player is injured - they speed up the recovery - just hire em & fire em as u need em!

For the moment i suggest u hire the following staff:

Goaltending Coaches: 1
Assistant Coaches: 5
Sport Psychologists: 0
Spokepersons: 6
Economists: 0
Physiotherapists: 5
Doctors: 0

And set your training intensity to about 96-7%

General only helps short-term with form, it has no lasting effects. So no, definitely don't train general. Depending on what age and skills your players have, you should train one of the major skills - Defending, Playmaking, Winger, or Scoring.

4-1 isn't too bad, you shouldn't really pay too much attention to what happens in the friendlies. The teams you'll be playing against in your league will be just starting out like you, and it'll be the results against them that are important.

The fixtures haven't been finalised for any league yet, I think they're put up on Sunday or Monday. I believe Div VI teams aren't in the oceania cup this season, so you'll have to organize a friendly for next week.

The rest of us (or most of us anyway) will have the cup starting next Wednesday. I've drawn another fairly strong Div V team, our stats are very similar but my midfield seems to be slightly better. And since I'm playing at home, I'm hopeful that I'll get the win (and an extra $400k in attendance the next week).

Round 4 Results
Heat 2 v 3 Havoc
Strikeforce 2 v 2 Avalon
Wolves 1 v 1 Drexciya
Crew 3 v 1 CKA
Machine 5 v 0 Falcons
Harriers 3 v 4 Holc

So what's going to happen with the Bulldogs vs Panthers match? My original table said that Panthers were going to forfeit this game (and the next), and Bulldogs got another friendly organised. But as it turned out, Panthers were able to play. So should they replay the match later (if they get knocked out of the Oceania Cup earlier than some of us others for example), or should it go down as a draw?

Actually, it turns out that they stuffed up the cup draw and didn't include the Div VI teams. They've redone the draw, and I now face a div 6 team that doesn't have an owner yet. Which of course means - Easy win for me. 8)

After saying that, I'll probably find a way to lose it.

Probably a 0-0 result would be fairest.
