ok, mad dogg. lets say i want to build my young players to be top midfielders. atm i have training set on playmaking. if i leave it there for the next 2-3 months what can i expect. is there anything else i should be considering if i want my youngsters to form an awesome midfield???
If you're training playmaking, it's best to play 3-5-2 or 4-5-1 in both your league and friendly games. The 3 inner midfielders in both games will get full training and the 2 wingers get half training. So all up you'll need six main trainees plus four other ones who'll play in the wing positions for half training.

Playmaking will train 17 year olds in 7 weeks (14 weeks for the wingers) if you have a solid coach. This increases by roughly one week for every year he is older than 18, and it also increases by a week each level under solid your coach is (if he's passable then it'll take 8 weeks, 9 weeks for inadequate, etc).

Stamina is very important for your midfielders, if they have low stamina then your possession rate will drop away a lot over the second half. So if it's too low then it might be an idea to train stamina for a week or two. But if you can afford to wait, the best time to train stamina is in the offseason as you only play one game those two weeks (unless you play a qualifier the first week), and stamina trains everybody in the team as opposed to playmaking who only trains those players who played in the midfield that week.

Otherwise, you just need to keep training playmaking and you will slowly start to see the benefits.

What age and level are your trainees? Or haven't you bought them yet?

A clown helps your team spirit, which then effects your midfield rating. Team Spirit is how MOTS and PIC work, MOTS (Match of the Season) causes you to get a better midfield in the game that you MOTS, but it then cuts your Team Spirit roughly in half so your midfield won't perform so well for the next few games. With PIC (Play it Cool) your midfield will drop in that match, but your Team Spirit will rise and help you in the following weeks. However, your Team Spirit is always slowly rising or falling to the middle value of composed. The clown works by speeding up that rise (if below composed) or slowing the fall if your Team Spirit is above composed. The coaches leadership does the same thing (and probably has a greater effect). Heh, if you understood all that you deserve a medal.

It depends on how good your young trainees are compared to your older guys. Normally a new team won't have great players anyway, so your youngsters may not play much worse. But if there is a bit of a gap between how good they are, then an option is to keep one or two of the older ones for a season or so until the youngsters catch up. When I first started training defence I kept one of my older central backs just to tide me over until my trainees became good enough to take over.

A clown is a team leader with popular agreeability. The team leader is whoever has the highest leadership in the team (not including the coach). So clowns are normally referred to as having solid leadership (the highest), but he can have lower as long as everybody else in the team is still below what his is. If more than one person has solid (or passable if that's the highest) leadership then you don't really know who the team leader is. The best way of making sure is to have a popular player with solid leadership and nobody else on the team with solid leadership.

If youre filling your stadium week in, week out - youre DEFINITELY under sized!!!!

But BE CAREFUL when u do upgrade...as the fan IQ has been tweaked this seaon, and is doing WACKY damn things!!...EVERYONe is complaining about it worldwide on the forums - and I dont think ive even HAD a full house all season personally!..which - even given the fact it HAS been a disappointing season for me, as i currently sit 4th....but ive been sitting 1st, 2nd, 3rd up to last week - and i REALLY should have had several full houses by now!!

Just a quick question on team leaders, if my team has a clown who is the only solid leader in the squad, if I were to buy a player with solid leadership would the position for team leader change or stay the same?

It depends on which one is higher solid. Although we only see the denomination 'solid', there are actually low solids, middle solids, high solids and everything inbetween. There would be no way to know beforehand which will be the team leader until you have had both for a while and watch how your Team Spirit performs. Normally it's just safer to stay away from other solid leadership players.

I also don't think I've had a full attendance at my stadium (42k capablity) this season. I had a couple last season and I'm in third like I was then, but the crowds just aren't coming for me. I did pack out my opponents 50k stadium in my last game, but that was for a 1st vs 3rd match which I narrowly lost 1-0 (and came within a whisker of hitting the old divine rating in my central defence).

It's hard to say. Mostly it depends on your team, and whether you are willing to perform worse in the short-term by using only young trainees in your midfield. In the long-term it'll pay off, but you really have to be patient to go this route. I advise doing that, but if you want to see more results straight away then I guess the way to do it is to keep your top two or three playmakers and use them in the league matches, with your trainees playing in Wednesdays friendly. You basically lose half of your training spots (unless the ones you are using in the league match are still young enough to be effectively trained), but you may snatch a few more points in the next couple of months.

Cheers, I'll certainly be careful, might bump my capacity up to 32,000.....I've got over $3.5million sitting in my bank at the moment waiting for the new season to come (I'm coming first by a country mile so no need to splash out just yet) so once promoted, I guess it will be spending time!

hey guys, i think my team is going to get alot better, i've just signed up two midders, solid playmaking, capable of 3 and 3.5 stars each, to go with my other solid playmaker, who can get 3 aswell. so i dont know whether to stick with my 442 formating which is going pretty well, or revert back to 352 which served me well last season.

my stadium has a capacity of 25000, i have 1036 supporters after 1 and a half seasons i think i'm going pretty well, and i think with these midfielders i can do even better!!!
my 25000 consists of:

Terraces: 15750
Basic seating: 6250
Seats under roof: 2500
Seats in VIP boxes: 500
that being 63:25:10:2

now onto round 3 of the cup!!
