I'm going to try a 5-3-2 with 3 inner mids to see how that goes. The reason I need 5 defenders is because I'm training them up to sell on and make some good cash. Also my midfielders' stamina is ordinary so this is probably another reason for my lack of possesion.
cheers
Do you have a training system set up? I hate to keep stressing it, but training is the key to success in hattrick. Obviously training players helps you as they get better, but it's also selling them as they get stronger and using the money to buy better players in other positions. I now realise that if I had started training when I first started playing hattrick, I'd probably be in Div IV by now.nibbs said:When I get this situation sorted out, whats the best way to go about investing money to make my team stronger?
I see Dog-E already answered this, but I wrote this half an hour ago then my computer stuffed itself before I could post. But I'm still going to post it. :evil:nibbs said:how do you change formation?
You may want to check out my games, as I'm also a defence trainer and play 5-3-2 and 5-4-1 (normally play one in the league, another in the friendly so that I keep my formation experience up in both). My team's Rockhampton Wolves (team ID# 37503)Dragons Cross said:I'm going to try a 5-3-2 with 3 inner mids to see how that goes. I use 5-3-2 against the bottom four teams in my league, as even with only two inner mids and an offensive winger (who does normally have a fair amount of playmaking) I can beat their 5-man midfield. But I doubt your midfielders will be strong enough to do the same. Against the other three teams I normally use 5-4-1 with three inner midfielders and one offensive winger to try to win the vital midfield battle. However, in doing so I do lose some attack so it really comes down to which I think is more important in each match.
Experiment with your formations and see what kind of ratings you get with each. Scout your opponent and find out what his weaknesses and strengths are, and build yourself accordingly.
What's your team name, by the way?

What i'm doing is moving 1 centre back to inner mid and then making both my wingers centre backs. It means that I will have rubbish attack down the wings but my centre will be stronger. I'm going to focus the attack down the centre and see how I go, I don't really have any strong wingers anyway so I'm not losing much IMO. If anyone wants an easy victory over me all they need to do is focus their attack down the wings and I'm toast.
It's all just experimenting at the moment as the results don't really matter to me.
Cheers again for your help
Clowns are often listed at $159k. Don't ask me why, it's just one of those things. So do a quick search for players who are listed at between $155k-$165k, and you'll narrow the search a bit. Good luck finding one of those rare solid/populars.can anyone suggest anything to help me search or will it just be good luck when I find one?
