After years of suffering with only one major Signing we are now being talked up as leaders in discussions with players such as Sam Burges,Mark Flanagan and Lote Tuqri now I dont expect to sign all 3 but 2 out of 3 woun't be bad.
So whats caused the change of thinking at the Tigers? Is it the lowly performances of the last few years,the coach reacting to what is needed or a new CEO .
If it is Humphries (and I believe it is)we could be in for a magic carpet ride over the next few years.

Don't think so, we've obviously made a target of englishmen, well before Humphries was even thought out. We've been linked with Tuqiri before also.

At the begining of the Year When we siged Ellis sheensy said we are having a new recruitment policy to sign atleast one state of origin or international player each year- long before humphries came over....

and the success other teams had in doing so. Look at Manly, sh*t kickers in 2004, buy Kite and BK for 2005 and they made the 8. Orford and Bell for 2006 and they go deeper into the finals, Lyon for 2007 and they make the Grand Final, then with what they had, backed up the next year and won it.

But the difference is we have a goal of securing some quality, even though it has yet to materialize. In the past we weren't even interested....

He was a key player of them staying- they said so themselves..... Probalby why Ellis signed also.....

Every seems to nock Sheens, I just think his recruitment has been bad- looks as though he has addressed that... hope he stays for another 5 years

I think Robbie in particular was very close to leaving as it was, If sheens was going I reckon he may be playing with Prince nexy year...

I cant remember anyone saying that in 05.. jeez man. The tigers, after 2005, have been very unlucky with injuries, and our luck in some close games always seems to go against us..

Im sure im gonna cop some flack for saying this, but sheens isnt aussie coach for no reason..

I'd be happy for sheens to be coaching the tigers for how ever long he wants.

So is it the coaches fault they didn't give us there best??

Sometimes but rarely it is - eg- Soward v Ricky Stuart

Brian smith made a good point after he cleaned out the knights players and some of them hit career best form- it was something like- " Some players have been in there comfort zone far to long ( they have become lazy) and when we ask them to change things they find it all to hard. Its not until they go to another club and it hits them - they see how it is done and they have to put in..........

I agree some players just need to move on but there's plenty who weren't given a go. Start with O'Donnell and De Gois for example. There's plenty of players and even staff out there who would testify that Sheens plays favourites and bullsh*t head games, often inexplicably.

He does seem to have favs, I'll give you that..... not sure how he would give degios a run infront af Farah. I can't recall much of a problem with him and Luke... that was a long time ago though......

Every year we get linked to big name players in the media but hardly ever actually sign them.

Don't get your hopes up until you see an official announcement. I won't be holding my breath
