Yeah Evra is not playing well at the mo.

He was always troubled by wingers, now he is even troubled by trash like Kuyt.

Rafa is looking better, but ultimately i see Jones as the right back. Its the position that best suits his game. Good defender but positionally not the best and likes to get forward.

He is a few years from the CB position yet. Plus Smalling and Evans have those places boxed.

Just wondering out loud - how long before we move Ferdinand and Vidic on and go with Smalling and Evans as our centre back pairing?

A lot depends on the fitness of Vidic after his injury. But Evans and Smalling are doing alright in his absence and its pleasing that he will have to fight for his position back.

Ferdinand will be around for a bit longer yet, maybe not playing every game, but he has a lot of experience to pass on, and is useful in the must win games.

Its never mentioned just how inexperienced a lot of the United team are. From the Bilbao game, Wellbeck, Cleverly, Raphael, Smalling, Evans, and even Young have not played a lot in Europe or been heavily involved in title runs. Rio, Giggs and Scholes are important as they have been there and won it.

Well we have won there once this season so no reason why we cannot do it again.

You think you want United to win it, but when the number 20 appears in big lights over Scouseland you will hate us for it!! :D

Good win against a deplorable Wolves side. Could have easily scored more goals, but put the cue in the rack at 5-0. Doubt Sir Alex would have been too pleased with that.

Congrats to my favourite player, Jonny Evans, for scoring his first ever goal for United. :D

Forget Sir Alex, I wasn't too pleased with that! City currently have a better for and a against with a game in hand, and still to play City away, with it being so tight every goal will count and they throw away the chance to score 8+ goals? I was pissed off watching it. How will you feel if you lose by 1 or 2 goal difference because you decided to take it easy on wolves, or rest or whatever the f**k that was. I mean wolves were gone, no resistance, United should have run up the score, but they were clearly happy to pass it around without any rush.

Ain't he just the best.
We played some lovely stuff in the game. Welbeck looks dangerous of a front man. Chico was not that good, but as soon as that ball gets near the pen area, he comes alive very nicely.
Must be ace playing upfront with Welbeck, Rooney and Valencia behind you.

While i agree we could and should of scored more i don't think i have ever been unhappy when winning a game 5-0. Especially at a place we often struggle at.

Maybe this United team is not quite as bad as everyone thinks it is?

So since Scholes has returned, in the League we have:

Jan 14 - Beat Bolton 3-0
Jan 22 - Beat Arsenal 2-1
Jan 31 - Beat Stoke 2-0
Feb 5 - Draw Chelsea 3-3
Feb 11 - Beat Liverpool 2-1
Feb 26 - Beat Norwich 2-1
Mar 4 - Beat Tottenham 3-1
Mar 11 - Beat WBA 2-0
Mar 18 - Beat Wolves 5-0

Not too bad.

I defs thuoght he retired too early, as did Sir Alex. I think Scholes didn’t want to tarnish his legacy by having a subpar year, even though he wanted to play on, kind of a “well, I’m 36(ish), this is when I should be retiring so I’ll do it” rather than actually feeling it was the right time. And as we’ve seen he was right to come back, he’s lost nothing.

Disappointing result today, left the house at 1-0 to Chelsea, came to work at 2-1. I was hoping for at least a point to Chelsea, but the win would have been huge. I feel like we need a buffer for the City away game, I don't want to go into that game with City overtaking us with a win because I fear that it will be all over from then. 4 points would've been huge , protecting from a loss and the added bonus of the point negating our lesser goal difference. Still, I feel it's United to lose now, barring sill dropped points to the easy fixtures over the next few games. I REALLY don't want to see City win it, not out of rivalry but out of principle, I don't want to see them rewarded for the way they conduct themselves.

We feel the same way about them. Heck, I'm sure most United fans would prefer Citeh to get up if it was a race between them and Liverpool for the title. Not that we'd be all that interested in such a contest. :p

Bottle Free Jason ;)

Just about. :D

Good to see Jasons favorite player was awesome again... ;-)

Not ure why Rooney came of for Giggs, must of had a knock or something.

We should of put it to bed before the last min, then the cry fest could of been saved for another week or two.

A win is a win though, City got lucky earlier on in the year (Spurs springs to mind) now its our turn. If Murphy wasn't looking for it so much he may of got it. Shame. :D

Interesting stat about which of the top sides has conceded the most pens at home though. Still things like this are overlooked when its United.

Oh well, it will give the Stockport massives something else to be bitter about.
