Just saw the highlights. Wow, about 4 goals in 15 minutes.
Obligatory Old Scaffold dodgy penalty. Ho hum.
Following on from the Dragons performance made it a very good day/night for me.![]()
f**k off and celebrate your mob winning away for the first time in 8 months. That penalty had nothing to do with the other 4 goals we scored, and was thus irrelevant in the final wash up. I might also point out the free kick Liverpool received for tripping over the ball (which they subsequently scored from), or the clear penalty we weren't awarded in the FA Cup match.
Anyway, ignoring jealous City fans, what a match! I watched the whole thing live. Couldn't possibly sleep through a match against a team of Tottenham's quality (under Redknapp). I was sorely tempted to chuck it in at half time. but thanklfully I kept the faith and stayed awake. What a second half. Jealous bitches may complain about the penalty, which wasn't clear-cut either way, but we scored four more goals through some brilliant lead up work (and some horrid goalkeeping), and kept the ball magnificently. Loved the crowd cheering every single pass when we were playing keepings-off at the end too. Good to see the cream rise to the top as well. Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez, and Berbatov were all enormous in the second half.
I honestly hope we keep both Berbatov and Tevez. Contrary to my earlier opinion, last night was a perfect example of why rating players purely on how many goals they've scored is stupid unless they are a standalone striker. United have been so successful for so long because they play as a team. It doesn't matter who gets the goals, as everyone works hard together to create the opportunities.
I'd also like to single out Rooney for particular praise. For about the fourth time in the last few weeks, he ended playing wide midfield, and did it superbly. He is a very unselfish player, happy to play out of position, happy to track back in defence, happy to set others up to score the goals instead of hogging the opportunities (though sometimes he remembers he's a striker and can't resist). He is the kind of whole-hearted player every manager and fan loves to have in their team, and just happens to be one of the most brilliant players in the world at the same time.
All in all, I am one very happy, if slightly sleep deprived, United fan. Following on from the Dragons performance made it a very good day/night for me.![]()
Either you didn't watch the game or you have no f**king idea. That penalty decision got Man U into the game. The game reminded me of why Ronaldo frustrates me so much. When hes on, he's unstoppable. Unfortunately, he has plenty of games where he just seems uninterested, unlike players like Tevez and Rooney. Honestly if you guys keep Berba and let Tevez go, it would truly be a wonderful day.
Highlight of the night for me was the commentator in the Man U game ripping Scholes. I remember nearly crying when he said "played some 600 games and still doesn't know how to tackle".
...not lately, Jason...but next time Shines pipes up in this thread ask him if he's ever seen City win a trophyThen again, when have we ever won a game and rival fans haven't tried to claim it was put on a plate for us by the ref? It's just too painful for them to admit that we might, just might, be a decent team.
Eh? We were already completely dominant before the penalty. It was hardly something that changed the nature of the game.Either you didn't watch the game or you have no f**king idea. And the f**king free kick for tripping over the ball and subsequent goal didn't wake Liverpool from their slumber against Hull? As I noted, we weren't awarded a clear penalty in the FA Cup semi which as it turns out would have put us in the final. What goes around comes around. We were good enough to pile on 4 more goals after the penalty, and prior to the penalty were already playing the attacking football that lead to the glut of goals. Then again, when have we ever won a game and rival fans haven't tried to claim it was put on a plate for us by the ref? Anyway, I notice none of the critics mentions that Spurs should have been down to 10 men after Palacios (I think) had a two-footed lunge at Ronaldo around the 8th minute. Absolute leg-breaker, but thankfully Ronaldo was able to jump over him.
All teams get a bit of help from the referees every now and then. Who can forget Lampard's criminal straight red at Anfield which opened the door for Liverpool.
I just find it amusing though that whenever one of the big 4 get a decision everyone from the manager to the fans scream blue murder that "all the decisions go the big clubs way!"
lol, I still don't know how we were 2-0 down at half-time. Even in the first half we were the better team and the two goals seemed to be out of a bad dream. :lol:I must be a newbie at football, i never knew being 0-2 down could qualify as "being completely dominant".
Shines & the rest of the anti united crew here would probably justify that "challenge" on the grounds it was on Cristiano ronaldo :roll:Of course, not red-carding the Spurs player early in the match doesn't get any mention despite being a much more certain decision. It was a truly disgusting challenge, by a player that I actually like. If Ronaldo had had his leg planted it probably would've been broken in multiple places.

Settle down princess. I was merely replying to this idiotic statement you made.
Man U in the end were far too good, deserved their win. I just think its a bit moronic to say that the penalty had no bearing on the final scoreline, my good buddy Evra can back me up on that one . You gotta admit, that scholes line is a cracker.
