I like to hear people who aren't afraid to speak up about the game. That's the whole point of the Roast isn't it? He might be dumb sometimes but he tells it as he sees it, and now a days that is quite refreshing!

Plus MG hates Qlder's. He wanted to kill the f*ckers when he played for NSW. I don't care what he says, I always remember him as being this harda*se mofo with crazy eyes.

I like MG. Idiot at times. At least he's willing to throw new ideas out there though. Phil Gould, Fatty, just reiterate the same points all over again. They overall may be better point than MG makes, but at least he's the one person in the media willing to throw his body on the line and at least create discussion. I very rarely agree with what he says, but at least he gives us something to discuss and think about unlike a lot of these precious media people who speak like they are employed by Woman's Day.

The guy is an absolute dumb ass that struggles to string together a sentence, yet somehow holds down a TV job..

Imagine if he had to get a job in the "real world" to feed his kids??

He wouldn't pass the Penrith Council aptitude exam..

Anyone who enjoys the rugby league analysis of MG needs their head read. The bloke is the biggest knee jerk reactor of all time, he has the foresight of a snow pea and as much intelligence as dirt.

So basically you're saying he suits the personality of a an entertainer? Which technically he is.

Do you really think Nine put him on the Sunday Roast because he is smart??? Anyone who thinks that is kidding themselves and is even dumber than MG is. He's on the show because he's an out and out footballer and has the guts to say what he thinks, despite it being controversial.

He's not an entertainer, he's geniused.

I know exactly why nine put him on the Sunday Roast - there are a lot of geniused people out there who probably do agree with some of the crap he comes out with.

I think Nine should at least put people on who have a decent command of the English language.

They do... but they also put a boofhead on there who doesn't. Just to relate to the general boofheads.

My favourite MG Moment was when he was doing radio commentary Sharks V Parramatta Round 22, 2003.

Cronulla were getting hammered and poor discipline saw them heavily penalised. Peachey vented his frustration at Shane Hayne and was marched ten for his trouble, he continued and Hayne sent him initially to the sin bin and then sent him for the game.

Peachey totally lost his composure, but it was MG's view that did it for me. MG said he could understand Peachey's frustration, but admonished him saying he should have known better and in situations like that you just have to respect the referee's authority and stay calm. The way he said it you would think butter wouldn't melt in his mouth.

By this stage his fellow commentators were in fits of laughter as they all congratulated MG on his stance and reflected on how well he would have handled it. I believe there was a reference to Hayne and a corner post having to be retrieved from an orifice.

The game descended into a farce and Parra eventually won 74- 4.

You haven't seen the calibre of our current councillors. One of the dumbest sh*ts I went to school with is currently a councillor. Geyer would easily be Mayor.

I like MG, he's honest, he may not the sharpest bloke, or the best with words, but he's a passionate League man, something the game needs in the media. And he's good value on the piss.

I personally would like to hear refs explain themselves, Jason Robinson on Friday night would've been ace

I like MG and his 5 point tries off scrums is a good idea.

It would bring back teams attempting set plays from scrums by offering more incentives to attack. Very rarely do teams do more than just hit it up from a scrum which is boring in comparison to a great set play.

i once remember him supporting the idea of one forward pass per set of six i.e gridiron style.(but watching lately maybe some of the refs agreed as well)
he rambled on saying that the game needs a injection of new ideas blah blah blah

if you listen to him on the radio in the afternoon
he agree with every crackpot idea that the listeners bring up.

maybe we can run a comp to see what the most ridiculous idea we can get MG to agree with on air

I wonder why most people on here hate everyone that is a commentator on TV for Rugby League. Gus, Vossy, Geyer, Vautin, Johns, M.Johns, Ikin, Daley, Tallis, Alexander, the list goes on.

Oooohhhh thats right. Its because people on here never say anything stupid.
