Sharks and melbourne should now enter into a joint venture and be based from melbourne with joint funding from the Sharks at Woolaware and News Ltd. both issues will be solved, new brand and a new start for Melbourne.

The NSWRL State Cup melbourne side can play out of Woolaware. Central Coast Bears come in as the 16th team.

Why are people so insistent on cutting the Sharks, or merging them off?

A team in Melbourne will always struggle financially, hell the Storm had to cheat for 5 years to essentially start creating a solid fan base.

By having a non-Melbourne team based in Melbourne is stupid. No one will watch their games. 80% of the supporters will be living in Sutherland and the other 20% will be scattered around Victoria.

It's too great a distance and too moronic a concept to even be considered.

If you are going to merge teams, make them teams that are relatively close to one another.

If you are going to chop teams, get rid of the inner city ones first as they have dwindling juniors.

I don't think any teams at this stage need to be cut or maerged or relocated.

If you want a team on the Central coast, get a central coast team, not another club from elsewhere who they may not like.

Fair dinkum, some of the suggestions people make on here are more moronic, backward, inept, ill-conceived, dumb and absurd than anything Peter Garrett has been involved with as a politician.

From the reasons I have picked up it had a lot to do with getting bailed out by the ARL and than turning their back to take the SL money on offer. That got alot of peoples ire.

Than to waste all that away and have what is apparantly negative growth in a fan base since that time is pathetic.

The ineptitude, two faced admin of the Sharks should be your first port of call when looking to see peoples dislike of the organisation.

That and you are just a god awfull football side who let Ricky Stuart go out and buy a side of predominatley back rower build players and proceeded to play the least entertaining brand of football possible. You used to get away with it saying "it gets results" but now it doesn't and you are still playing the same dreary, rubbish football.
