I think Edgar beats McGregor. Then again I thought Aldo would. I just think back to the Mendez fight - Frankie won't gas. I have to stop betting against McGregor though and just enjoy the ride!

Weidman though.. Looked just horrible

if frankie smashes mendez

if pluto, mercury and jupiter all line up perfectly perpendicular to the earth.

The Aldo from the WEC days would've beaten McGreogor, or at the very least made it a war, I honestly think Aldo is cooked, in terms of age he should be in his prime but as Conor mentioned the way they train in Brazil isn't smart, they basically have all out wars during sparring sessions, that will have a toll on any fighter. You look at the confidence and bravado Conor walks around with and you compare that to Aldo who looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders leading up to the fight. Frankie Edgar will give Conor a challenge, he's just a survivor, you might beat him up for 2 round but he'll still keep coming at you in the 3rd, 4th and 5th rounds and his cardio and his heart are unparalleled IMO.

I thought the leg kicks would undo Conor and Aldo would be able to get him down and hold him there. Mendez ran out of gas in their fight, so as good as it was I wasn't totally sold on Conor. The 14 month lay off and the stuff around the last fight were a concern but I still thought Conor wasn't quite at that level yet.

The problem with Conor is he is winning these fights so easily(when he gets his chance) is it hard to know what you will get in a war when someone brings one. You can't hate on him for that you just have to enjoy the ride.

Frankie I fully expect would bring a war to Conor. But then again I would not be shocked one bit if Conor gets the W. I just won't be betting on his fights for a while - he is fantastic to watch.

That clean punch to his jaw pretty much ko'd him. The hits to the face when he was unconscious and unable to defend himself were beautiful. The World needs more violence.

firstly it was disappointing to see 2 standout champions do such douche things, weidman was starting to find his range in the 3rd round, and rockhold even admitted to gassing at that point and limping due to being another victim of a weidman leg check,....before weidman had a brain fart and put himself in an bad bad situation....and for someone of aldo's experience to see a red rag and charge like that? just wouldn't have imagined it in a million years.

anyway watched the entire post fight conference, and connor has already sold himself on going up to lightweight, the only thing stopping him is the ufc forcing him to release his featherweight title.....i feel for frankie coz frankie at croke park ain't gonna change connor's mind on that one imo

Frankie is the most underrated guy on the UFC roster, I wasn't a fan at first because I beat BJ who was my favourite fighter but Frankie is someone who you just can't cheer against, he's done everything the UFC have put on his plate, Cub Swanson was the 3rd ranked guy for a while and he looked like he didn't even belong in the same octagon as Frankie, then he goes and knocks Chad the f**ks out in the first round and this is Chad with a full camp under his belt.

Just like the world needs race cars adding to carbon admissions and injured league players taking up hospital beds, let's just get rid of all sports

Oh I agree 100% Frankie is a fav imo against connor as aldo still will be if they rematched. You have to give a 10 year win streak some credit to excuse a complete brain explosion

Credit to Connor for achieving what he has so far but even he doesn't believe the tickets on him as the shrug off the shoulders suggested as aldo lay knocked out

Also wasn't favourite in the first fight with Conor...

How the hell will he end up favourite after getting KO'd in 13 seconds??

Connor has always been the bookies favourite...

You might wanna check that 24 hours before the fight the real money came in for aldo. The Irish wagonners gave macgregor the early betting favourite but I ain't talking about betting favourites to start with

Yeah I just checked it... Aldo overtook Connor very late... With about a day to go.

But it was only slightly...

I'm pretty confident in saying that on the back of Aldo being starched by Connor in under 13 seconds I don't Aldo will be favoured in the rematch.

that's called the smart money, doesn't always work out that way, but the punters that punt with knowledge and real money always punt at the end.

i don't doubt aldo maybe BETTING favourite next time round, but that will only because the army of sudden ufc fans since connors presence will be even cockier next time round. as i said it wasn't betting favouritism i was referring to, if you saw the prefight, all the expert commentators on panel cormier, stann and bisping all predicted aldo, cruz predicted aldo, if you follow twitter feeds the split amongst the fighters would have been 2/3rds aldo. a brain explosion charge in the first 13 seconds of a fight won't do too much to change their minds.

If it's truly 'smart money' it won't be on Aldo....

The experts were on Aldo to retain based solely on his championship pedigree...

Now you also have a fight between the two where Conor knocked Aldo out cold in 13 seconds...

Your just plain stupid if you attribute it solely to Aldo getting caught rushing in...

Conor is extremely accurate with heavy, heavy power and a tough chin... All those things he showed in those 13 seconds...

He also gobbled up Chad Mendez strongest shots... And he walked right through it... Aldo couldn't do that...

I'm telling you right now... If Aldo and Conor rematch... Those same experts who tipped Aldo in the first fight will tip the other way in the 2nd...

That 13 second knock out has a massive baring on a pickem fight... Which is what the first fight essentially was...

i didn't say connor didn't deserve his win, his counterpunching is definitely an asset, i said aldo rushing in was uncharacteristic, he's a seasoned pro, he knew he didn't need to do that. will his mentality be tested again? maybe, will that influence the experts to change predictions in future? maybe......but what was unanswered is how connor fairs against aldo's skills after they've worn themselves in.

No way Aldo is favorite in a rematch. Yeah he will likely be more conservative if there's a next time but Conor will keep his cool (like always), keep his distance and keep striking with that crazy accuracy.

He is also so far in Aldo's head that you would be nuts to back against him. Besides the wack gameplan, anyone see how shaken Aldo was when he entered the Octagon? It's a gonna be a looong way back.

I personally doubt Aldo's desire, he's not the killer he use to be, all the pulling out of fights and the way he carries himself now, looks like a man who isn't in love with what he does
