The clear cut number 1 though?
Jamie Lyon. Dogged Parra and has repeatedly dogged NSW. Homesick and moved to England, yet is a media
darling who gets feel good stories about hunting written about him.

f**k some people are clueless. The guy lost a newborn and Brian smith/parra refused to tell him til after the game. What do you want the guy to do? Hang around and forgive Brian smith? Obviously distraught and still very emotional, the guy gave up league and moved back to the bush. When it was time to play again he never wanted to go near parra again (who can blame him). He went to England and was persuaded by his good friend cleal to come back and play for manly (best decision he has ever made, has now got 2 rings).

Cliff Lyons, Craig Field, Anyone who signed with Super League.[/QUOTE]

When he went from Norths to Manly, I was in a state of shock. The guy was a total tosser but somehow turned his stupidity around to be one of the Sea Eagle's best players of the 80s and 90s.

Terry Hill. Grubby merkin, irony was when he was exsssploding at other cccentres it sounded like he was speaking with a mouth full of urine. Utter toss-bag.

Mathew Ridge. Admired how much he wanted to break a Manly contract to play for the Warriors (champion effort Mat), but when he got there he played like a desperado outlaw.

Danny Williams. King-hit twerp.

Julian O'Neil. Arrogant merkin, heck of a talent, both with the ball in hand and an open orifice.

Corey Hughes. Worse elbow smasher to the face than Randy Savage. Grub.

I'm sure Jamie really cares being captain of a 2 times premiership winning team. He's a media darling because he's probably the best centre in the game. Only dumb f**ks like hindmarsh would want to stay at the Eels.

Amazing how some people want to keep their head firmly planted in the sand in order to have a sook about anything to do with Manly. I think most people in the same position would want to distance themselves from such a disgraceful club after such an incident.

Um... that is the first time I've ever heard the real reason he walked out on Parra.

Yeah a bit of creative license there me thinks. Clearly just the silvertail fans trying to make themselves feel better.
looking forward to hearing their defence for Hopoate Sr. next.

All through the years i have never heard that story about why Lyon left. I'm not saying you are bullshitting, just never heard it. If true, that is fu***d.

Best centre in the game, close.....but no.

I had never heard that either. At the time in 2004 Lyon blamed the pressure of living in the big city (ie the media scrutiny) for his decision to leave Parramatta. He said he was homesick. But I am willing to believe being apart from family when a tragedy strikes as qualifying as being homesick.

Still, he couldn't have hated Parra that much as he contacted them about a return to the NRL with them upon his return from Super League.

Back to hated players

Nathan f**king Brown circa 1997. That blonde mullet just made me want to whack him with a mallet.

David Barnhill. Although a Rooster, his inability to offload EVER cost us many an attacking raid. He ran hard and willing, but he was a one trick pony with absolutely no vision. The 90's equivalent of Ben Creagh. Luckily for NSW in the 90's they had enough brains not to give muppets like Barnhill rep jerseys.

So when he decided to leave how did you feel about it? Moving back with him to the country - how did you cope?
It was a crazy few days because during that game I went into hospital after having a miscarriage. Jamie came in when he found out after the game.

Don't worry, you're not the first Queens fan to not have a clue.

There's a massive difference between a miscarriage and a newborn dying.

Should Smith have taken him out of the game and told him? No doubt. But I am pretty sure if Smith had his time again he would have. I am not saying Jamie was wrong to leave.
