The gorgeous Sally Carr fronted a group called Middle Of The Road which had a huge hit with Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep. I always liked this song which got a lot of air play here back in the early 70 s but is largely forgotten now.

Little postscript -

The UK entry at Eurovision 1974 was Long Live Love. Performed by England's very own Olivia Newton-John.

Interesting that Olivia recorded six songs for Eurovision and it was up to the public to vote for which one entered.
The six songs were," Have Love, Will Travel", "Lovin' You Ain't Easy", "Long Live Love", "Someday", "Angel Eyes" and "Hands Across the Sea". Olivia admitted she didn't like Long Live Love but still gave a great performance on the night but nobody was going to beat ABBA, it was their Waterloo .

Four years later Olivia invited ABBA to appear on her television show in the US and they became life long friends after that.
