I reckon Morris plays Kennedy for most of the first half, then brings Tracey on at FB.

Metcalf might get a short stint...

Kennedy will start the season pending injury or irresistible form apparently. How long can he hold it?

Disagree.
I reckon bombers paying respect to Kennedy tonight
by giving him first shot- but in his mind its Tracey.
Kennedy will need to be MOM in first half to get round 1 because Tracey will come on 2nd and be good.

I really don’t want Kennedy to be given first shot even if he is mom tonight.
Give Tracy/Metcalf first crack and make Kennedy force his way in not the other way around

Nothing out there to prove Tracey should shoot into the fullback spot and I reckon it makes total sense for Kennedy to be told it was his position to lose. The competition among spots is the main thing...tbh I reckon Tracey will force his way in by round 6

I think Tracey will make a good go of his chance but geez Metcalf looked pretty handy back there the other week.

Kennedy is playing for his spot and a contract past this year. Rip in boys.

Agree with this.... happy for Kennedy to be given first shot but equally happy with Tracey and Metcalf to put pressure on him. Tracey at fullback does worry me injury wise given his history of knee problems and the change of direction required at fullback.

Be interesting if metcalf Is given the last 40 at 7 and puts on a few tries.

Wont mean anything for round 1 but will create discussion

Nothing to prove Tracey or Metcalf can cement the number 1 no, but I’d rather try them out first see if they can become a long term solution and if they fail send them back to the half’s as back ups and get very busy signing a new 1 for 22. I don’t want to start with Kennedy switch to Tracey / Metcalf for them to fail and go back to Kennedy, or succeed once we have already hit the market for a 1. Roll the dice and and if they succeed then we have stability at the back all season and opens up our recruiting for 22.
We need it sorted early on not mid season.

I noticed Kennedy had a bit more venom in his return carries tonight too. Its obviously been bought to his attention to run harder.

Difficult to compare.
Kennedy played behind a first grade side going forward getting quick quality ball on the edge from moyza. They had field position for 80% of the first half.
Tracey was behind a side which is barely jets level. Barely.
They had no field position. No cohesion. No forward going and struggled to get to the last.

Kennedy chimes in on the edges like Darius and moyza - whilst Tracey prefers to come through the middle like slater or Teddy.

Yehhhhh Tracey has a loooong way to go to be a fullback. Dunno why I seem like one if the few willing to persevere with Kennedy but tonight was him playing like he did all last year... Mulitalo and Katia seem to love running off him.

It wasnt difficult at all to compare, Tracey does not have the positioning required in both defence and attack.
