So we leak points in two halves of football and all of a sudden it's solely to do with the absence of Micheal Luck? I wouldn't be so sure yet.

We leak big points in NQ, always have. And last week's capitulation was not down to Luck's clean-up work.

We had to make 116 more tackles due to turning over wa too much ball. These were things that happened on the offensive side of things which then put pressure on our D.

Luck was never going to account for the 116 tackle difference, especially when our worst offenders in the missed tackle count (Heremaia, Hohaia, Maloney, Taylor) missed more tackles than the entire Cowboys team combined.

Please note I said 'yet'. We were up in both our last matches going into the final quarter. So really, it's 40 minutes of poor defence and given we'd shipped about 14 in the other 120 minutes against the attack of the Tigers and Cowboys I don't think you can absolutely say 'we're f*cked without Luck'.

Does Luck clean up that left side defence last week where we shipped all the points? No. Does he make a difference last night? Maybe to an extent, but it was the defensive shortcomings of our wingers (one who is very green, one who should know way better) that opened the floodgates.

Just to say a guy who makes a lot of tackles is the reason we've leaked a lot of points and lost games is a pretty naive view. It needs to be looked at a lot deeper.
