Still thy hearts of faithless ones- Teflon Tim says we can still turn the season around after our 14 nil defeat by the Warriors.

Yeah right- how one might ask? Common journo's-what exactly does he mean and how will he do it?

- will he move Marshall back to 5/8 and put in a proper 1/2 to direct the team around the field? (ie will he admit experiment is not working well)

- will he take notice of Morris's attacking liability and only use him as a defensive player ( that is his strength) and not as 1/2 or 5/8?

- take out some of the non performers eg Halatau & Payne and give others a chance?

- Inability to score a point must be really looked at- where was the attack breaking down and whose fault was it?

Not surprised by the result after the 3 big, close losses but no excuse on mental let down- they're professional footballers / coaching staff and should above that. Excuse of injuries is not good enough.

Mediocrity for 2009 here we come again................

The only time we looked like doing anything was when Laurie had the pill. Other than that it was dreadful kicks or inside balls all day.

Boring and predicatable.

Hi EA;

Tigers are my second team because I like following the fortunes of Benji and Tuiaki.

You obviously missed Farah a lot yesterday- also Galloway and Lawrence (we lost Tate earlier in the season- messed our whole dynamic up until, perhaps, yesterday).

Ellis looked good, as did Lawrie (very much so).

You need a halfback. So do we.

Yesterday I was watching the Toyota Cup, and I was impressed with a few of your young forwards; future's bright.

Gidday Meth old mate.

I dunno if our future looks too bright, we need a change a the top. Same excuses every year, same blokes not turning up to play and to be honest, yesterday we make Cronulla look like the Cowboys in attack...

Tiger's are perennial underachievers, for sure.

But there's a lot to like about a Tigers team with Lawrence in the centres, Ellis and Lawrie wreaking havoc, Marshall at five eighth and Farah around the ruck steering the attack, Tuiaki on the wing, Galloway hitting the ball up and a few of these youngsters I saw in the Toyota Cup rising to fill in the caps currently occupied by the passengers.

Can't blame Sheens too much this season to be perfectly honest. We've lost by 2 points to two of the best teams in the compe and by a point to another.

We've had a crippling injury toll and yesterday our lynch pin was out for state of origin.

I think we can turn it around, provided we start winning the close ones.

Provided we start winning the close ones?????? Since when have the WT under Sheens been able to win tight games? NEVER!!!! We repeatedly choke, miss vital goals or field goal attempts, give away stupid penalties and just play plain dumb- time and time again.

I admire your faith TimmyB but mine has been battered and bruised way too much since 2005. Unfortunately, I'm basing my feeling on past record..............

You can't serious timmy.

All three of those games we would've won if he had a reliable goalkicker.

We need to buy a goalkicker, a halfback and a front rower

Surely missing the finals 4 years in a row will be the final straw??
Has any coach ever kept his job after that?

Has any coach been nominated for Coach of the Year with a win loss record of 10-14

There is your answer

The rules don't apply to the self proclaimed supercoach

No coach has lasted after missing even three finals series in a row. Tim will surely set a record when he is given a contract extension and misses the finals for the fourth yr in a row.

wrong.

wayne pearce went 7 straight seasons of successfully failing to make the semis. helps explain which half of the board has the coaches back.

WT board have made no noises about unacceptable results from Teflon.
Seeng as the board got rid of Longmuir who attempted to have accountability and results expectations from the coaching staff I dont see any way that Sheens will go anywhere except of his own volition (for that read a coaching offer from somewhere else)- alas I think we are stuck with Teflon (and Simmons) for thrilling season of mediocrity up to 2011.

In his defence he didn't have as many current rep players in his squads as Sheens has had, and given how ordinary alot of the players were, the fact the Tigers continued to go awfully close to finals football was a credit too him.

It's easy to win premierships when you're gifted a great squad. It's not so easy when you get a mob of nuffies.

no doubt junior had some weak squads mu, but even tommy was able to stay sober enough for long enough to jag a finals appearance and his squads were no better.

no one at wests was pushing for tommy to be given a job in 2000, but someone with an arguably worse record was a non negotiable condition for joining up.

the same misplaced loyalty has seen a promising ceo punted rather than have a coach with three straight failed seasons accept some accountability. for one side of the jv 2005 is a lifetime gold pass for the coach and no discussion will be entered into.

or maybe they're just so loyal to junior they're trying to make sure someone breaks his 7 year record.

The Tigers are the masters of finishing just outside the eight.

Usually on for and against as well just to make it that bit more painful for us fans. :?
