I know hindsight is great and they left for better opportunities elsewhere. But geez it would be handy to have John & Dave Williams as our two wingers. Both are very solid and are excellent finishers. John Williams was one of the Cows best last night and Dave has been in great from for the Beagles.

wingers aren't the problem with the team at the moment, though i couldn't blame you for thinking that, as Hagan obviously thinks so.

John Williams is solid without being outstanding..

would rather we kept David Williams though.. rookie of the yr imo

i am still not happy we let john williams go. while he can't make hitups the way gu2 does he is solid under a high ball, pretty good defensively, has a great turn of speed and is a very good finisher.

i thought he was very under-rated while he was at parra (although i think injuries limited his opportunities in firsts).

that said, as stated above, our backs are not our main problem and having either williams brother in the side wouldn't make a difference. it's hard for backs to do their thing when the coach wants you playing boring football.

I am actually not that unhappy about Tony Williams going now. It may bite us, I know, but I think he has been ordinary in his last 3 starts.

I'd have David back in a second. Tautai can go, Tony can't bite us any more than David has. My initial reaction to his leaving was disappointment in Tony's case. Right now I'm leaning toward the "don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out" sort of feeling.

The big question is, will we see Guru in the top grade again with any consistency under Hagan. If not, wouldn't that money would be better spent elsewhere. I like Grothe but he'd be taking up a fair chunk of the salary cap. To much to be rooting about in lower grades.

Both Williams would be on less coin, & David in particular is consistent 1st grade League. And putting in consistent 1st class efforts!

I love Dave, but I am still convinced if he stayed he would still suffer from chronic knee injuries (or whatever injury it was that kept re-occuring). Sometimes it does take a whole new scene for some players to thrive..
