The Pile On

Said the other day I'm over analysing individual players.
Can't say more than has been said.

Do we expect them to win every week?
Of course.
Every supporter does.

Will they?
Of course not.

Will we accept a heart and soul effort in defeat?
Of course.

But if you are well paid and turn up for a shift and dont put in should you expect a boot ip the arse from the boss?
Of course.

What if you keep doing the same stupid shit every shift, should you expect a few warnings?
Of course.

If you till dont get the message should you be moved on?
Yep.

Thus the pile on.

And...
That environment really starts to suffer when the boss starts accepting your shit.

That right there is where mediocrity takes root.

We all accept defeat.
But...
Do we - should we - accept that rubbish from Saturday night?
....as passionate, time-giving, financially supporting, supporters, should we be happy with the dumb, lazy, repetitious dribble put up - AT HOME - against a bottom 8, at best, side?

No. And we deserve better.

Somebody, at this club is accountable for this consistent shitshow that sees.players absolutely REFUSE to do their job.

What happens at Penrith and the storm?
Forget the stars. The rep players.
Its the other blokes who turn up and
DO
THEIR
JOB.

The 5%ers
The simple things...
Catch the ball.
Run hard.
Make your tackles.

Bellamy gives you 2 things to do.
And you know - from November 1 its drilled into you - you f**king do them.

I can tell straight up whats problem no. 1 at our club.
Egos.
Big heads.
Smoke up arses.
Can't get dropped.
One game off the GF last year.
Coach loves me.
High 5s at training.

What that breeds is no heart when it gets tough.
2 weeks ago cleary kicked a 40/20 and it was game over. After 10 minutes we were done.
On Saturday we ran out at home and the team in the sheds knew they would win.
Theyd told each other all week.
We're the favourites and dolphins are even lucky to be on the same park.

The result?
Absolutely smashed on the scoreboard.
Embarrassed.
Sent home with tails between legs.

And the biggest slap in the face to the fans.
The boss has the same attitude.

The pile on should be bigger.

Fitzgibbon is part of the reason why we can’t bring one decent player into the team. I’ll pile on him all I want thanks.

....just on that point about rep players and the rest of the team.

One of the biggest problems we have at the club has never been addressed.
The coach refuses to address it.
He will continue to refuse to address it.
And it is to his detriment.

The problem?
Nicho Hynes.

We bought this No.14 / benchie from the storm and are paying him $1M.

He is portrayed as a rep player.
He isnt.
He has shown to be a failure at SOO level.
He thinks playing in the All stars game is a rep selection when its basically a list of blokes who's clubs let them play. The best diggie boys dont.

Fact: Hynes would not make the Storm run on side.
He would be lucky to make the bench - yet we took him off their hands and are paying him Jarome Hughes / Cam Munster money.

That right there spotlights an issue with the coach's perspective.

To be fair to Fitz and the recruitment on that one… we bought him from the storm on good money, and then his first year with us he wins the Dally M in a breakout year and was the model of a good human off the field which earnt him an extension and more money. Most on here were pretty stoked when that happened.

Why he won't make Trindall the 7, tells me a lot about Hynes, that demotion I could see him crumbling.
For Trindall put the 7 on him then it's his job to run the show when he has the 6, he has the get out of jail card, that it is Hynes.
Why they can't switch those numbers is beyond a joke

There'll be a change. Teig will start and Burns will go back to the bench, that huge shake up there is enough to have Fitz shivering in fear. And maybe if he's really throwing caution to the wind then Toby will start and Hazelton goes back to the bench.

Can't say it's not exciting thinking of all these possibilities!!!

Some of the winners of the Dally M:
Jarryd Hayne
Joey johns
Kalyn ponga
JasonTuamololo
Roger Tuievaso sheck
Jack wighton
Tom turbo
Jonathan thurston
Nicho hynes

Dally M is a false currency.

Never won by the best player in the comp.

Won by a player the media love in a team of nobody's and who gets all the votes.

Nathan cleary will never win it, nor Reece walsh.

To be fair, I would 100% be moving Hazo back to the bench.

I’d also have Hiroti playing instead of Ramien - he might not be as good as Ramien, but there needs to be consequences for dog shit performances.

But it’s all shuffling of the deck chairs if we’re going to head out again with a game plan of 5 single runner hit ups and a kick. That’s why AFB and Hazo looked ineffective - it doesn’t matter how good the prop is, if there’s f*cl all deception or alternate option, even just a support runner to give the illusion of a potential tip-on, then they’re gonna get monstered and will soon run out of energy, which is exactly what happened at the weekend.

Each to their own really.
Pre season I didn’t think they had it in them to get it done. That’s the pessimist ingrained in me. So to be this position, I’m equally surprised and not surprised.
This early in the season to be sitting in the house of mirrors is good. They are either going to rally and be brutal, or just go full mediocre, where they make a get to the semis then flounder - like the Might Ducks or Bad News Bears or some irrelevant movie from the past.
I’m not a fan of the pile on, as some sensibility goes out the window with crazy posts, but again each to their own.
My commitment has waned which has been better for me in all aspects. I dumped streaming, got a flexi pass for only a few games and really am living vicariously through here.
I hope they turn it around, but if not changes will eventually occur and the ‘last dance’ bollocks can in true Cronulla style be our ‘last shot of tequila before vomitting and being thrown out of the leagues club that no longer exists’

I always like to see how a team is firing after the five rounds of the competition to make my fair dinkum assertion of how they are travelling. Now, after three rounds I believe our side is again going to be the classic down hill skier. You can back that one in.

I like to hope I am wrong ...... but.

Things I hate so far, they are so predictable, they are boring, there is no desperation in the playing group, ball on the ground well he or that one can dive on it as I'm not. Not in my job description.

And the support play, yeah.

Well I've still got 'me' two more rounds of fun and games.

Pssst I did enjoy NOT WATCHING last weeks pile of shit or reading the match day pages. I was a free spirit.

Thank you for your attention to this matter ... JJQ

While Kennedy is fullback we won’t be a real premiership threat , solid player and top 8 yes but can’t see a world where Kennedy lifts the trophy.
Id love to see an alternate world where Dykes & ISON never got injured to see where this team would be at.
Luke Metcalfe anyone?

Oh come on now, when was the last time we had swarms of players backing up a break.

Doesn't matter who we get, our style of play is in our genes.
