The player you most want to see step up a level this year?

For me it's Chad Townsend.

If we are to go back to back this year I think it's crucial he takes his game to another level.

His first half of the season last year was wonderful but his form and confidence tapered off as other teams worked out the way we attacked.

Now that he's a Premiership winner I want to see him play with more confidence and definitely run at the line more out wide where he broke the line a few times last year. Also get his kicking game even more accurate and kick with more conviction and intent of what he's trying to do with the kick.

Like to hear other people's thoughts.

I'd like to see Val stamp his authority on games more this year. I want him to back himself more, particularly in space or on kick returns.
He's super dangerous when he takes a hit up down the guts of the ruck too, so I'd like to see him come in for more of that.
He needs to realise how good he is and take it upon himself to impose himself on a game more. Get in the middle of the park and run off the shoulder of people like Gal and Fifita.
He is a superstar, the more he's around the ball, the better.

Capewell for mine. There's something special about the way he plays that could make him a very dangerous, rangy second rower. He's going to need opportunities, but if he's good enough he'll get his chances.

Like you guys, I'd also love to see Val go up a gear. Hopefully the kangaroos experience starts paying off, because we'll be paying for it come contract extension time.

Tagatese has room to improve...

Most excited to see Capewell get more time tho. Energetic player.

Leutele for sure...First year he's most likely guaranteed that centre position due to lack of depth, needs to deserve automatic selection somehow. For me, his running game needs to turn into more half breaks and breaks, opportunities to put away Feki or Graham. Was pretty good at that last season but still didn't quite make that position his own.

Agree about Townsend and Holmes...I also think Graham needs an improvement. Was great last year, but I dunno if he's really standing out as an Origin level player just yet. We're gonna pay him a truckload for his extension anyway, just hope he deserves it.

Loots for me as well. Should start at his highest ever confidence level next year 'cause although outwardly everyone lauds AF for scoring the "winning" try it was Loots tackle on Marika that stopped a "winning try"

People at the Sharks know about the importance of it.

After that Mr Squiggle and Humphrey need to go up a rung as well. They'll have a shytleoad more responsibility in what I expect will be a more expanded game plan. We probably don't have the hooker to keep last years plan exactly

T-Rex could be anything with us. Behind Fifita, Gallen, Lewis etc T-Rex should run riot.

The big sloth also had a fair bit of firepower in front of him when he was a doggie too. The big Pommy (C) and Sam could always offload a pass to the Wreck but most of the time they had trouble finding him.
