Don't equate SSM with gender issues. I'm pro SSM, but against the idea that gender is separate from sex and don't agree with pronouns and the idea that gender is an undefined, unquantifiable thing. Its childish and regressive.

The public’s sentiment that was extracted from the SSM debate seemed to reflect a desire for fairness and the principle of letting people live their lives without undue interference. Many saw it as an issue of equality, rather than a broader challenge to societal norms.

Bringing up pronouns right now is as unhelpful as bringing up people who think they are cats.

The uncaring are the vocal minority who make life extremely difficult for queer people who are finding life tough enough.

Normalising the vilification and labelling those who defend as woke so as to silence them is opposite day of what you are seeking.

Leave them alone. They are not breaking any laws. They are not hurting anyone. There are literally 1,000 more important things in our society that need to be dealt with ahead of this.

The irony of this topic is that the very people who seek to be vocal on this topic are those who constantly rebuke others with the phrase "don't tell me what to do or how to think".

Agree with everything in your first paragraph. Support equal rights. I have a brother in law that used to be my sister in law. He is still much loved and supported.

Your last sentence about pronouns says everything and we will never agree. You don't think its an issue. I think its stupid and has nothing to do with equality. Lets leave it there.

Agree. I am not religious either but thankfully no-one insists that you should believe in a god.

I’m suggesting that it is silly for anyone to make up pronouns, insist on people using them and then cry ‘discrimination’ if people can’t remember or refuse to play their game.

I don’t go out of my way to offend someone by calling them he or her if they don’t identify that way. I typically just use their names as you suggest.

The problem with pronouns is that they require forced participation in what is seen as either delusion or sexual fetish by the 'transphobic' community. Somewhere between requiring atheists to perform the eucharist/salat or demanding merkins sit quietly while someone masturbates at the desk next to them.
