You have a male and a female.

If someone's turns from a male to a female aren't they just chosing one of two sexes. They aren't creating a new one or am I missing something? I'm unsure.

I believe some people genuinely feel they should be the opposite sex. If at least two doctors determine that the individual who must be an adult is in a sound state of mind and would suffer otherwise, I have no issue with it. As long as they identify as one of the two genders, it’s cool. I get it.

Well, as a layperson, I suspect that they would approach it by breaking it down analytically.

For example, is your question ^^ genuine curiosity or trolly shits for giggles?

Do you have a willingness to learn or is your mindset fixed ?

Are your follow-up engagements of a similar tone or have you softened after been provided with information? Perhaps there are no follow-ups by you whatsoever.

Is there a sensible progression in conversation or a shifting of the goalposts?

This paper points out the implications of an empirical marker of gender dysphoria compared to people who are just gay. This is just another case of the 'answers' raising bigger questions (one of the outcomes of any analysis). To call it shifting goalposts is itself disingenuous. This is yet another rabbit hole 'the left' won't want to explore. Instead we’ll get the usual personal attacks when they run out of 'studies' to paper over the problem.

That's a fairly sensible approach, and acknowledges transgender people existing in the limbo between biological/born sex and feelings of belonging the opposite sex (or dare I say gender).

There are of course people whose feelings about it all mean that they don't want to play into the binary nature of gender at all, even though they were born a particular biological sex. I can respect that non-binary element too, and wish anyone in that situation all the best with their experiences.

To be fair mate, some of the comments from the other side have been equally disparaging.
It's why certain members have been banned.
It's also why I said the other day that discussing this sort of stuff over internet forums, there will never a be a winner.
