The Prince thing

I make the Bronco blinder inference because it seems that how Bronco supporters see Marsh at the moment.

Not every Broncos supporter feels that way. Marsh's recent injury has allowed Michael Ennis to play 80 minutes as hooker, and it's no coincidence that when he's on the field the Broncos are a more orderly and threatening team on the front foot and the defensive. Hopefully we can sign him on again, because he's a smart player who even Bennet rates as a coaching assistant and potential future captain.

Marsh still offers good utility value at club level, but his Origin days are behind him. He hasn't done anything to warrant a recall to that level, and if you think you need a super-sub, the closest you're going to get at the moment is Stagg. Stagg's been in great form this year and he's still getting shuffled around a bit, so hopefully he'll get a go at a Maroon jersey.

assuming no lokcyer

aus
6 Anasta
7 Prince or Thurston, either one works for me

qld
6 Thurston
7 Prince

That'd do me too ... although I could live with bird at 5/8 too.

It should just go back toi the days when whoever was in form gets in ... in the 80s it was Mark murray/peter sterling/steve mortimer as halves, elias/conescus/simmons at hooker, in the 90s it was stuart or langer at halfback.

As a QLDer I don't care if they pick Prince or Thurtson at half but Prince is in better form and should be there. Same goes for Fullback, I'm a Matty Bowen fan but the form #1 is Slater so he should get the spot in front of hunt (stewart was only there in october cos Hunt was injured).

In the instance that Lockyer is healthy and is picked at 6 for these two teams, with Thurston remaining at 7, then surely Scott Prince deserves a spot on the bench. How could this suggestion be possibly argued against?

it can be argued against very easily. the guy is a halfback & organiser, so laying him on the bench would be pointless. he will either wear the #7, or not play

both slater and stewart were in much better form than hunt towards the end of last season, and either one deserved the test spot over hunt (although a stewart fan I was a little surprised they picked him over slater, as storm won the GF and all the maybes went to the winning team, apart from fullback), just like now where slater is the form fullback but may miss out because of selectors always choosing incumbents, thats not fair really IMO, so leave hunt out of the test side anyway and let it be decided by form

The QLD halves should be

6. Thurston
7. Prince

Anything else and the selectors are crazy. Prince is the best halfback in the comp at the moment by a mile, and Thurston is just as brilliant at 5/8, if not more.
