This season Pura Cup starts today with Tassie and Queensland facing off. Queensland are going into the match minus Kasper and Bichel due to injury and have been replaced by Ben Cutting and Chris Swan. Should be a good game but Tassie to have the bowling advantage to get them home.

True, but considering they're the Cup holders they'd have to be disappointed about their first innings defending it. Still by the looks of the majority of the dismissals, there was a bit in the pitch to start with. Also kudos to Noffke for stepping up to the plate in the absence of Kasper and Bichel.

The Pura Cup is well and truely under way with Queensland still dominating Tassie. The QLDers declared at 6/544 with both Simpson and Noffke picking up centuries. Tassie are 3/201 at stumps on day three with Di Venuto on 95 and Birt out for 74.

Victoria are 5/291 at stumps on day one with their match against South Australia with David Hussey being the pick of the batsmen scoring 104 and Cameron White chiming in with 76

NSW is struggling against WA in the first day at 8/183. With Katich, Nicholson and Casson picking up half centuries. Edmondson is the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/50

Inspirational knock from Nicholson to come in at 7/89 and finish the day on 85 not out.

NSW now 9/238.

why is cowan opening in pura cup, i know he opens in one dayers, but i think he would be better suited down the order, the bowlers will need to bowl well to contain w.a.

Good start to the season by the Vics...top 7 all made it to 20, just needed a couple more to go on with it. David Hussey surely would be in the running for a crack at the internationals this summer, he had excellent form in county cricket and then for Aus A in Pak and now a ton in the opening Pura Cup game.
