Please remind me again of what proof there is that this all occured?

A photo of a bloodied mouth that could be anyones and some inconclusive texts?

Could it be a media beat up?

Forgive me for not folloeing NRL gossip/trash closely

It's called doing your due diligence, something you'd think a banker would know.

He probably took him on face value, just like the majority of rugby league people.

Didnt he get voted the best RL administrator last year in the Telecrap public poll ?

I'm interested to know what people think the Bulldogs should have done given the woman refused to press charges? Are we now going to drop/sack players on the word of anyone who comes forward with an alleged complaint against them? Aside from informing the NRL, though if there is no policy in place to do so then the club is at no fault, of the allegation then I don't see what else responsibility the Bulldogs had.

I'm all for kicking any player legally convicted of hitting a woman out of the game forever but you can't start banning players on allegations.

Depends on what the player does.

If a complaint like this one is made, and the player admits that the complaint is correct, then regardless of police charges they should be sacked. If the player denies it so its a their words against his type situation, then of course you back the player unless the courts prove they did indeed do whatever they are accused of.

I don't mind clubs sacking players with less proof than is required for a criminal conviction. dozens of players get sacked for acts that don't break and laws at all, so we can hardly start using "was he convicted of something" as the key criteria for tearing up a contract.

I don't think Ben has admitted guilt at all. The matter is still only alleged to have happened and therefore... air.

To be honest none of us have any idea what was said internal to the club, though obviously the suggestion that Ben did hit her was there. That said the bulldogs did the right thing to seek police involvement, but if she denies everything then I think the bulldogs did the next best thing in organising counselling and standing him down for a period.

No actual facts have came out yet, yet the media already have found Greenberg guilty.

Also wtf is up with the text messages, if those are indeed text messages of Curry/her friend and her friend was the one that supplied them to the media, then she is one shit f**king friend.

Has the person/player come out and denied the allegations in question?

Unless she was sick of seeing her friends head getting caved in and wanted something to happen about it. Then she'd be a great f**king friend.

No , a "great f**king friend" would go to the police, not the Daily Telegraph where they can spin everything to their own tune. Has anyone even thought of the effect all of this is going to have on her kids?

Anyway it hasn't been confirmed that it was her friend who supplied the text messages.

There are plenty of articles where Curry has denied domestic abuse.

All in all nothing has been confirmed, and no charges have been pressed against Barba.

Although I do wonder what would happen to Barba if the integrity unit; find him guilty; will he still be in trouble if it happened at the start of the year ? Also will the police get involved?

In any case I have yet to read facts from any reputable source besides NRL.com which said the NRL integrity unit is going to look into it.

Greenburg best get used to it, anyone see a pattern here from the media? Grant is appointed ARLC chair, media goes after him, Smith is appointed NRL CEO media goes after him, Greenburg is appointed NRL snr exec media goes after him. They are nothing if not predictable and RL fans need to stop giving them oxygen and return fire to the RL hating media Sydney seems to have.

Yeah I don't know there is no real proof that Barba hit his ex she could very well have set this up in order to keep full custody of the kids its happened in the past.

All I have to say is in this type of situation there would need to be some kind of video footage or something would be needed.

I think you overlook that they don't live together, and even moving to Brisbane will see no changes in that arrangement, Ben is in counselling and knows he has been given a second chance, one that if he screws up costs him his career for a year or more.

I was referring to the so called accused not the so called victim, any statement of denial?

What everyone seems to be ignoring is the fact there there is no evidence.

But carry on.
