The real reason Ben Barba is heading north

I was referring to the so called accused not the so called victim, any statement of denial?

No, Barba has not denied it, although the burden of proof lies with the accuser; so unless Curry actually comes out with proof Barba doesn't have to really say anything.

No 'Evidence' doesn't mean something didn't happen. Just FYI.

Lol If you have no evidence of an incident, how can you prove the incident occurred?!

I didn't say you should take action based on 'No Evidence'.

But people believing that if something can't be proven it didn't happen is just humorous.

It practically didn't happen under the eyes of the law. If it can't be proven how do you know it even occurred ?

Your post proves nothing of what your saying, it's just a statement that reinforces what many have said in this thread.

Considering the amount of publicity it has received and the damage to his reputation,it would be appropriate to make a public denial and threaten to sue if said allegations weren't true.

My post was not meant to say anything other than all you people believing that their is no hard and fast proof of something means something didn't happen is purely hysterical.

I'm not saying IT DEFINITELY DID happen.

Has nothing to do with being paranoid at all.

so your theory is, the fact that its cant be proven either way means that it happened

you dont see the irony here ?

or should I say paranoia ?

NRL PRESS RELEASE

An independent report has found that the Bulldogs Rugby League Club acted appropriately and sensitively in addressing issues involving Ben Barba earlier this year.

Prepared by Tony Bannon SC, the report is based on first hand interviews, an assessment of documented records, a review of media allegations and a review of the legal responsibilities facing the Bulldogs.

“I have completed my report and on present information there is no basis for the NRL acting against the Club or against Ben Barba,” Mr Bannon said.

Mr Bannon found that based on the facts at hand the club was not in a position to establish an act of domestic violence.

The club was (and remains) confronted with the strongest of denials in relation to those claims.

Mr Bannon notes that Ms Currie declined to be interviewed but through her lawyer referred Mr Bannon to her public statement of September 1 in which she denied being a victim of domestic violence.

The report was commissioned by the NRL Integrity Unit and has been reviewed by NRL Chief Executive, Mr Dave Smith, and presented to the ARL Commission.

“We have gone to great lengths to ensure an independent process,” NRL Chief Operating Officer, Mr Jim Doyle, said today.

“It is one that has been sensitive to the rights of the family members at the centre of these issues while also fully examining the Bulldogs’ handling of the issues.

“One of the key points highlighted throughout the report is the pressure that is being placed on the family through the ongoing discussion.

“Ms Currie has been clear in asking that her privacy is respected and there is a need for us all to be mindful of the needs of the family.

“Accordingly, the NRL will make no further comment.”

Bulldogs Welcome NRL Integrity Unit Findings

Saturday 21 September 2013 1:31 PM

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have today welcomed the findings of the NRL’s independent review into the Club’s management of matters in relation to Ben Barba.

The review, conducted by Tony Bannon SC, stated that the Bulldogs acted appropriately and sensitively in addressing issues involving Ben Barba.

“The Bulldogs appreciate the independent scrutiny applied by Tony Bannon SC to the processes the Club followed in regards to Ben Barba,” said Chief Executive Raelene Castle.

“The welfare of a young couple and their two small children has been the absolute priority for us throughout this process.”
