I was born and raised in Canberra yet I'm a staunch Queensland supporter. Who gives a sh*t?

You were born and raised in NSW but chose to jump on a Queensland band wagon some time ago.

And? Its a game of league, not paying off a 500k mortgage.
I Guess because i live in Australia i cant support any EPL, NBA, NFL, MLB team?

This debate on which state you should play for is b.s - You take Peter Sterling for example. Born in Toowoomba, but raised in Wagga Wagga. His father was in the RAAF. They could have moved every 3 years to different states through out his childhood. Is that his fault his dads career can involve different postings. He played for whom he felt part o.f I've known a RAAF brat of Australian parents born in Malaysia. Dad was posted to RAAF Butterworth, Malaysia, does this make her Malaysian. What if I couple was on holiday and wife was pregant then goes into labour early, so many different situations of where people are born. We live in a country that gives us the freedom to choose. Your home is where you heart is, not necessarily where your born. I grew up in different states including QLD, but have always felt I was a Blue. If I was good enough to play NRL, but because I played in QLDs that is the only choice I had for State of Orgin, I would tell them to F*off and never play SOO. It's not anyones choice, but the person involved. Would you really want to play alongside a person who doesn't want to be there...

Those competitions dont have a criteria of selection based on location. State Of Origin does.

Your as bad as the people that follow Brazil over Australia in Soccer, because Brazil are "exciting" and win all the time.

Your a dog, a turncoat and a bandwagoner.

How am i a bandwagoner? You think i just started supporting them last year?
I went thru the Mark Murray 56-12 thrashing
I went thru the Michael Hagan BS
I went thru the Wally Lewis years as coach

Stick you criteria up your f**king loser arse.

You started supporting Queensland because something caught your eye. Maybe it was one of those comeback games, maybe one of them came to your school maybe you didnt like that everyone at your school followed NSW so you thought you might try and stand out. Either way, you were born and raised in NSW and choose to follow the Origin side that you have no origin connection too. Your a bandwagoner.

With the plethora of candidates in some positions, CvC could actually be a slightly bigger deal than usual as far as a genuine selection trial. Without those in contention for Australian spots (Those who played in 2010; Gidley, Watmough, Bird, Hayne, Gallen, Morris, Lyon, TLL, Lewis), my teams would be:

City
1. Nathan Gardner
2. Blake Ferguson
3. Mark Gasnier
4. Beau Champion
5. Michael Jennings
6. Trent Hodkinson
7. Mitchell Pearce
8. Tim Mannah
9. Robbie Farah (c)
10. Trent Merrin
11. Simon Dwyer
12. Feleti Mateo
13. Mark Minichiello

14. Kris Keating
15. Tim Grant
16. Keith Galloway
17. Mitchell Aubusson

Country
1. Josh Dugan
2. Michael Gordon
3. Josh Morris
4. Jamal Idris
5. Akuila Uate
6. Todd Carney
7. Jarrod Mullen
8. Kade Snowden
9. Michael Ennis
10. Aiden Tolman
11. Nathan Hindmarsh (c)
12. Ben Creagh
13. Dean Young

14. Jamie Soward
15. Dan Hunt
16. Luke Douglas
17. Anthony Tupou

Not sure about the eligibility of some, but most should be in the right places. The second row is pretty much sewn up, but it should be a good opportunity for the props and outside backs to put their hands up as genuine bolters.

Michael Gordon must be in the NSW side IMO. He's not as flashy as Hayne or Uate. But he's just as dangerous - he's one of the most consistent and complete players in the competition. He could play anywhere in the backline and not let the team down at even the highest level. I think his best position is fullback... but really you can pick him and the other 4 best backs and just throw him in the position not taken. If it's not fullback, you're better off as right centre or winger. But he could no doubt play left side without issue.

He was great for us in his debut last year despite limited opportunities... and his club form since then has been much better. He has risen to another level... similar to Adam Mogg when he made his QLD debut. Only he was probably better known before hand.
