It sounded more like if Bird gets first shot at right centre than Tamale is next in line?

Lomax at left wing to move around with Lomax

its a mystery rapped up in a ...............but all will be revealed next couple trial games

IM guessing Christian wont be on any more than the Fegai boys...................so he is more depth pushing the starting team?

I’ve never seen him play. Don’t know a thing about him either. But I rate him over Feagai already.

You can expect plenty of what you see in these highlights at 2:44. Does it all. the. time. No better than Feagai in my opinion. Think Feagai has more upside.

Also at 4 minutes, gets completely caught out ball-watching when Manly had the numbers. Forgot he was supposed to be marking Sivo.

He's let in 3 or 4 tries there.. 1 time tbf it was his Ctr, but he's run out by himself almost every opportunity.

Hopefully he has improved since then or he wont be ready to start 1st grade... he's going to need some Flanno training for sure.. but Flanno has worked with him before no doubt.

The more I think about it.. the more playing Tuipulotu in 1st grade seems unlikely.... with 9 days left to the first trial.. he has done no work with our defensive structures.. and obviously has work to do there based on 2023.. maybe its not guarantee at all that he starts in 1st grade.. having said that perhaps he will get a stint during the charity shield.. as I suspect left-wing is the only spot not locked in yet...

By the way is this him at training today? Or is it King Togia maybe?

Signing of Tuipulotu a little baffling to me.

Even though I rate Kyle F and Liddle much higher than many on these forums, we need coverage for their positions at 5/8th and hooker.

I'm not inspired by Marschke in this role but would be ecstatic to be proved wrong. (I do like him as a person - but that doesn't win you games)

I'm just praying there is method to the madness and Flanno has some insight into what makes Tuipulotu tick.

I do however agree that 2024 looks a shitload better than the last couple of years.

Looking forward to kick-off - Round 1.

Totally agree Mr Hound.

however, he is big and strong, and if Flanno believes he gets him playing for him, and he can learn… well at least he is depth with potential. (Mind you, I’m thinking Fegai is in that class which nobody else agrees 😂)

With regard to Matt Feagai, I think that he will be much improved these next few years under Flanno, if of course he remains with us.

The fact that Feargai kept making the same defensive mistakes suggests to me that it wasn't Feargai who was the problem. It was more likely the defensive structures implemented by Hook and then Carr couldn't mess with these defensive structures mid season. It was probably more sound to finish the season with what the squad knew and then slowly begin a total revamp at season's end. Plus the fact that Bird and BMM in particular were hugely unfit and so was the squad generally. Flanno would have revamped the whole defensive structures and has definitely improved fitness, strength and resilience. Feargai will be the main beneficiary of this. I felt a bit sorry for Feargai last year as he was the "visual" of an extremely flawed defensive structure. The breakdowns were occuring infield. Especially with Amone. The game that highlights Amones defensive deficiency was the Souths game when we beat them. We led by a lot and then Money was introduced into the game. Souths attacked him relentlessly and scored 3 quick tries and nearly came back and won the game.
