Read the article and do the math .. we are paying him around 700 per yearMy main issue is it will increase other players expectations in either resigning with us or coming in.
700k to 750k would of been it for me but this is where we are as a club.
oh thats a better figure then - He would get that at most clubsRead the article and do the math .. we are paying him around 700 per year
Now we know why.Worth noting that Luciano Leilua has not been named anywhere for the Cowboys trial this week
Dan Russell is on our extended bench which might put rumours of his departure to rest
Calling Dr Nick RiveriaIt's 2.7m over 3 years, its 900k per year (averaged).
Says we only pay 500k this year cause its already February, but we need to pay more than that if we can so lessen the blow for 2025/2026.
Edit: Subject to a full medical before its official =)
Saw that they are paying 400K this year averages out to around 767K per year from us since you are being pedanticRead the article and do the math .. we are paying him around 700 per year
Is this how desperate they want to get rid of him? I hope the Dragons have done their due diligence, medical, other possible offences, baggage??Cows are also contributing part of 2025 salary as well
Hey Dave the article reads 2.3 mill for 3 years ??Hoops: How Flanno’s $600k move for rising Cowboys star helped seal Leilua switch

He was always coming back to us and Deano would have also had a hand in all of this. Costly I know but we do have some spare and I feel that Su'a's deal will be similar.
I think if you have a look at the way the contract is organised and what the cows have put in for this season, it will mean the Dragons are not far from the payment of $700k per season for him.My main issue is it will increase other players expectations in either resigning with us or coming in.
700k to 750k would of been it for me but this is where we are as a club.
Yes, this is the latest Fox article. The earlier one was a deal at $2.7 mill over 3 years. Maybe Hoops doesn't know the exact amount or maybe he has deducted an amount that the Cows will cover??Hey Dave the article reads 2.3 mill for 3 years ??
I think the contract is 900k per year of which 400k has already been paid by cowboys.Hey Dave the article reads 2.3 mill for 3 years ??
Basically what you've just said there on your last line is what front loading is. Considering the Dragons have so much cap room this season, theoretically they could pay Leilua 700k this year, thus knocking off 100k pa for the next two years of the contract (so long as Leilua agrees to get paid more now and less later). In this scenario, he is still paid $2.3M total by the Dragons over the term of his contract. However, I'm not too sure what the salary cap rules say about it. Considering we are taking over his current contract, and he has earned 400k from Cows already since November, I'm not sure if we are allowed to pay him over the 900k total this season (i.e. 500k coming from us) in order to free up space over the next two years. Maybe someone else can clarify if this would be legal.I think the contract is 900k per year of which 400k has already been paid by cowboys.
I.E we outlay 2.3K - av 766k per year.
That means this year is technically 500K outlay by Dragons.
I don't understand frontloading but hopefully we can apply substantially more than 500k on 2024 salary cap??
