Not good for the depth of talent for the wider NRL pool of players either, with a couple of new teams joining in the coming years.

Taulagi is a big chance and I actually think this will come through. He walks into any wing spot in the comp massive upgrade an all of our wingers. The Cowboys want to retain Purdue and sign Ramien they need to free up some space and we definitely need an elite winger because Tuipulotu and Sloan are not that.

Taulagi's night ended just 17 minutes into the match after his knee bent awkwardly in a tackle from James Fisher-Harris, forcing him from the field and out of the remainder of the contest. Medical staff immediately ruled him out, with post-match reports confirming that he will undergo imaging and specialist assessment to determine the extent of the damage.


While the Cowboys have yet to provide an official update, early signs suggest the injury is unlikely to be minor, raising fears of a moderate-to-severe ligament strain - or in the worst case, a potential ACL rupture.
