I actually think he's a better centre than a 2nd rower.

Or more importantly a better centre than we have outside Lomax. I still think we need some out and out speed though in a decent sized human.

Lomax should be retained as he is versatile, solid, elusive and is tall. He is also an excellent
goal kicker. Unfortunately he has been injured and stuffed around by Mc Gregor. With Lomax and Saab we now have height in the backline.
We lost Packer because we failed to resign him earlier in the piece and also Morris and
Thompson who we let go before their contracts were up. The Management of the Club definitely have a death wish compounded by the ineffectiveness of our recruitment and coaching staff.

The only hope Saints have is that the rivals offer Lomax less than what Saints expected and match the rivals price to save some dollars. A huge risk which I doubt will happen. But then again, even if Saints offer Lomax double what rivals offer him why would he stay at a club with a rubbish coach who controls his game time which to date has been shocking. Lomax knows if he plays well at another club he will get a start where as this club, he will only get a start if Lafai or Aitken are injured no matter how good he performs and how bad they play. It all depends on injury hence why he wants fullback as those 2 are irreplaceable in his eyes. Other clubs will offer him a definate start in the centres and he will join for sure. The fullback thing is an excuse imo.

The idea of signing capewell is completely out of character with our club. Which means it’s probably a great idea.

He’s young, is still improving, has good footwork, can play at an NRL level at centre, winger and second row, and will be motivated to try to lock down a starting position. He also wouldn’t cost the farm because you are still buying on potential.
