At present, we have -
Blake Lawrie, Andrew McCullough, Paul Vaughan, Josh Kerr, Tariq Sims, Tyrell Fuimaono, Poasa Faamuisili, Trent Merrin, Daniel Alvaro, Jackson Ford and several others in reserves. If we add Jack De Belin (if cleared), Francis Molo (signed), Andrew Fifita (possible), Josh McGuire (possible), we would definitely have the forwards to challenge the other clubs. We certainly have it in spades in the backs so looking forward to the next month or so for our squad to be finalised.

Go the mighty Dragons!!

We all age. Look at me I've just turned 74 and the years have sped by. As they say, "time and tide waits for no man". In the case of the footballers, unless you are a Cameron Smith, life in footy is short and these props, and you can add James Graham (he has reached it), are reaching their use by date. Once the players reach the early thirties, it's more or less hang up the boots time. These guys would only have a couple of years left in them.

No. I'm hoping we do not get any of these guys. We need the Molo's or Stone's or Blacker's.

DD, l must say, you your looking dam fine for your age in fact, as soon as l’m successful in reading this eye chart at the optometrist, l’ll be right along to shake your four hands.
Wish me luck!

Ha! Yes 6Again good luck. I'm "seeing" my optometrist next week and wonder if I'll be seeing four hands afterwards. Those eye drops they put into your eyes to dilate the pupil lets too much glare into the eyes, so best to bring my sunglasses.
Age shall not weary me!

I think Fifita is the target and imo the better choice of the 2. Dont forget McGuire was on our radar earlier but 'circumstances' changed. I dont think they go down that path again.
McGuire may end up at the Sharks now he's been given permission to look elsewhere, which would be compensation to them for losing Fifita.

All speculation of course.

True that, David Dragon , In a couple of weeks, Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
we shall remember them.

I also just heard on Triple M radio that Andrew Fifita is on his way to St George in the coming week which means we could have both Josh McGuire and Andrew Fifita at the club within the next 2 weeks

I don’t want to lose Clune but to be fair it’s a good opportunity for him to nail down a spot should he choose to. Just really bad timing with Hunt/Sullivan injured and Bird suspended. On a positive note if it does happen it pushes Sullivan up and most of us would agree it looks as though he will probably be the long term option anyway. So with Hunt, Norman, Sullivan, Amone and Bird along with Wishart all in and around the squad we do have a wealth of options.

Admittedly I'm not as high on Clune as others would have no problem if he left

Bird, Sullivan & Amone are fine back up options we need more mongrel up front, Tariq Sims isn't the same player he was for us. Would happily take Fifita and McGuire.

Good lawd , what has Adam Clune done wrong to be shipped out as if the poor chap was nothing more than a piece of freight - to north banana-land of all places ?

To sign Josh McGuire :flushed: geeze I don’t mind Fifita , but McGuire , I really don’t know .
Should the trade take place then I hope that Clune is compensated in some way at least for moving interstate for setting up home .

McGuire will be handy. He will add confidence to our younger forwards.
I would be more concerned with Fafita's knee.
Our forwards really do need bolstering even thou they have aimed up.

Clune has played a total of 16 games in firsts, under McGregor.
I would like to see what he can do under Griffin.

He seems very composed to me.
We should at least see how Clune goes in the next few weeks under Hook, Elliott and Gentle. If our team has basically improved overall by winning the last two games, Clune's "improvement" will also be seen and from that he might stay with us, I hope.
