If they medically retire those players it’s with an eye to some big mid signings. We are not making the top 4 in any one of the infinite parallel universes. Top 8 is looking not out of the realms of possibility though.Jake Friend from the Roosters stood down indefinitely for 3 concussions this year. Boyd Cordner already stood down for concussions. Roosters are very vulnerable for ANZAC Day & probably for this season. Melbourne’s form a bit hot & cold I think there’s a changing of the guard. Penrith & Canberra looking good with Parra that leaves one top four spot. Go you mighty Dragons it’s time to step up and be where we belong.
Clune deserves better than to be shunted off to another train wreck club for the sakes of Josh McGuire. His career would be over before he ever got a decent shot at the NRL.That Billy Burns rumour makes sense cause I read in an earlier article about Josh Mcguire and Clune swap that Penrith were interested in getting Eddie Blacker
Clune has been able to achieve tertiary qualifications in Law and Commerce. He was able to complete the two Bachelor degrees while playing rugby league. He is the sort of player who has the brains to think on the field and make quick decisions.Clune deserves better than to be shunted off to another train wreck club for the sakes of Josh McGuire. Forgive me if I’m wrong but seeing as he’s under contract surely he can say he doesn’t want to go & stay. I’m sure others have done this in the past.Clune deserves better than to be shunted off to another train wreck club for the sakes of Josh McGuire. He will be great, he has only ever been really good at every opportunity. If he gets to show what he can do this year and moves to a successful club I will be happy for him. But he is better off getting a handful of games under Hook than going to Bulldogs, Tigers, cowboys or Broncos.Clune has been able to achieve tertiary qualifications in Law and Commerce. I would not be happy for him to leave us at all but I can see the difficulty he has in getting regular first grade games with Norman and not forgetting several juniors who are itching to also play first grade and who we want to keep. However, going to a club like the Cowboys is not going to be roses and with several of their players not in the good books or wanting out, the culture would not be anywhere as good as the Dragons at the moment.
Clune is a good back up half and can also play hooker. A good utility for Hook to have.
Let's see how he goes in the next few weeks that's all I want to say.
True, but if he was even asked to go that would be wrong in my eyes. I really think Hook is better than that, at this point any talk of this swap is probably coming from Young, not Hook.Forgive me if I’m wrong but seeing as he’s under contract surely he can say he doesn’t want to go & stay. I reckon Souths will come to the party & agree to a 2 year contract with Reynolds. The talk on Reynolds potentially affects any Clune swap. Not that I can see why - except bulk $ - Reynolds would move his family to Townsville to play in a rabble.
More moves around the chess board to come i’m guessing.

There’s talk around losing Gagai if they sign Reynolds. Some of their supporters I know would rather lose Gagai. They would be silly not to....they may need to release someone.
Souths have been shopping Gagai around for a while but no one is interested as he’s on massive $$$There’s talk around losing Gagai if they sign Reynolds. Some of their supporters I know would rather lose Gagai.
Mini Me LMAODid anybody else see what I saw during and at the end of the Cows/ Sharks game?
Firstly, McGuire's body language while Payten was addressing the troops at half-time and then again at full-time was telling.
McG had his head in his hands looking down for an extended period during Payten's half-time address as if he was just trying to shut it out. At the end, during Payten's post-mortem, firstly McGuire pulled a face in Payten's direction as if to say- you're kidding mate- and then he put his hands behind his head and leaned back in a classic boredom pose. No love lost there.
Secondly, I found it amusing that Payten has created a doppelganger of himself in Dean Young. With both sporting the uniform blue shirt and beige slacks and shaved head and ziffy beard, it was very difficult to tell them apart. If the bad results keep coming, and they surely will, maybe Payten is planning to send Young out to cop the abuse from the crowd while he slips out the back door!
getting better..
Unsure we need either Macguire or Fifita after that effort
maybe they can compete for a spot on the bench
