Is this a wind up or what?

"DOGS ARE WATCHING DRAGONS YOUNG GUN

The Bulldogs are monitoring the situation with Dragons young gun halfback Jayden Sullivan.

Sullivan will get a crack wearing the Red V No.7 jumper against the Broncos on Sunday and has long been regarded as the heir apparent to play halfback at St George Illawarra.

But given the outstanding form of Dragons captain Ben Hunt you can understand why the Red V outfit are now looking to extend the existing contract of the club captain beyond the end of 2023.

Hunt has been the Dragons most consistent player this year and after year’s of scrutiny around his $1 million contract the move has proven a smart play from St George Illawarra.

Sullivan, a Wollongong junior who played for Wests Devils, is signed with the Red V through until the end of 2025.

But the Bulldogs are keeping a close watch on how the Dragons playmaking puzzle pieces together and if there’s an opportunity to present Sullivan with a direct path towards playing halfback in the NRL then Canterbury-Bankstown may explore trying to make it happen."

I am even sure that the Dogs would be looking at our other juniors as well.

Bud is contracted to the end of 2025 and I would think that he would not be going anywhere and staying with us.

We need an NRL hooker for 2023. Hunt to 9 Sullivan to 7. Problem solved.

It's been proven you need experience in the halves. It's rare in fact extremely rare you get a Nathan Cleary who can control a team at such a young age. Bud is going to need time as does Amone. Maybe a hybrid of Hunt/Mulheisen at hooker and Hunt/Sullivan at half is the go for 2023. See how things play out. Although I don't really like the idea of changing things too much with players and positions. So ultimately no idea really, let's just rebadge as the Roosters and buy whoever we like

This stuff from the forum looks really naive after yesterday's humiliation against the Broncos reserves.
What's really naive is expecting a youngster with virtually nil 1st grade experience at half to suddenly come in and replace a SOO half and win the game. Sure we were beaten, but hardly a humiliation. The pass for Ramsey first try was brilliant from Amone followed by another later in the game which was called back for a forward pass. Make no mistake these kids are the future and the sooner they get FG experience the better off we will be. If we don't bring them through There are other clubs who will.
