Hahah just watching the Fan on fox league and Vossy was interviewing Ben Hunt and McCullough and they had to guess all the premiers from 2021 to 1998 , they guessed all of them right the only one they didn’t get first go was their own damn clubs in 2010

they don’t even know our history
I couldn't believe it, but they did get all the donkeys premierships straight away.

That's effing bullshit even I know about 2010.
Agree , they certainly knew , but for reasons of their own decided to play dumb .

I sincerely hope the rumour about Jayden S’au is nothing , however I did mention earlier in the season that he would be one player most disappointed in the way that the Dragons were travelling .

Big difference to where Souths are at , semi finals football and our mob , merely rounding out the numbers - yet again.

This is the problem Gareth. I think lots of players who have decided to join the Dragons, past and present and even the has beens and rejects, wonder "Why in hell did i join this Club?". Lots didn't have any choice for obvious reasons (like not being wanted by their former club).

A reason why I guess nobody of any good strengths and capabilities want to come to us (Su'a under Bennett wasn't always first choice for first grade for Souths. Suli wasn't favoured by Manly - these two are the better ones though). The "nonames" would join because they don't get much of a run in their previous clubs. We offer them lifelines and a bit more dosh and they sign and think "wow, I now play for the Dragons, yippee, only to realise that we aren't much chop and that there is always the "pressure" playing for the Dragons.

The club tried getting Ciraldo a couple of times only to be turned down. Fitz preferred waiting and decided to go to the Sharks when the shackles of his contract at the Roosters were released. Flanagan is waiting for something and I don't think it is with the Dragons - like he has not even hinted that he would like to coach us.

So far only a rumour, but there is mention that Ben Woolfe is coming as an assistant coach. Not Ben Hornby, not Jason Ryles, not Dean Young - Ben Woolfe??

What "big" name player have we gone after and secured his services? Who have rejected us?
The man with his loudspeaker calls out " Hear Ye! Who wants to be a St George Illawarra Dragons First Grade Player" to all and sundry and the silence was deafening.

Still hearing the Dean Young name being thrown around the traps and at this stage……why not!

That's been the plan (dream for some) all along and some in the club will do whatever it takes to make it a reality, whatever it takes even to the ruination of a once great club - something they've effectively been doing for years anyway.
If D. Young becomes coach I'll never support this team again, they could win 11 in a row and I wouldn't give a toss.

Maybe the comment from Hunt about loving hook and wanting to be linked is purely a tactic to save Hook in the short term , knowing that there is a lot of writing already on the wall for a change in 23
it’s a worry there is so much bad rumours coming out
I still can’t see them changing Hook for 23
BOD a too dumb, too slow , too Fxxxxx

Doust & Albert are pushing for it, especially Doust. Apparently nothing gets approved unless Doust agrees 🤬

Su’a and Lawrie unhappy? That’s curtains for Hook. You can’t lose two of your best forwards.
He’s cooked, won’t last the cricket season.
Crush you would like to think his number will come up on nov1 where its only a year payout . You would think Flanno has been told and is waiting in the wings .. As I mentioned on another post could you swap Griffin into the pathways project ( depends on terms of his contract) and bring in a new coach in order to save a payout ..
Anyway you look at it if something doesnt change then this toxic atmosphere between playing group and coach can only get worse and explode wide open which will derail the 23 season

Hey Possm

I think your right Possm, hate to say it. You know the other thing we with have problems with, 3rd party deals. You would think WIN Corp would be front and centre doing the deals to attract players. Can’t believe WIN Corp f**king do nothing, old man Gordon would have more money than Uncle Nick, why doesn’t he do anything, just anything but we hear crickets obviously he had no interest in the St George Illawarra Dragons.
WIN, as owner, cannot offer 3rd party deals.
TBH how could Dean Young be any worse than Hook ?

id rather have Flanagan or even Ryles

but another year of Hook, we know that won’t end anywhere good
I’d rather have Flanno in 23 & 24, Deano can take over in (not before) 25.
He needs another couple of years experience in other systems for mine.

Something is a miss with Ben Hunt. He wants Griffin to stay & reportedly wants it in his contract, yet it appears most of the other players are unhappy and even some want out.

Some of the players advocated for D Young to remain in 2021, particularly the younger ones, but Hunt was dead against it (if you remember his comments about wanting an experienced coach). D Young also wanted to move Hunt out of the #7 permanently.

Hunt is hands down our best player, but how much say does he get? And will he have a sook in 2023 if Hook gets punted?

Why not Redvee, Uncle Nick does it all the time not a problem.

I see us being in the same position with Hunt as South’s took with Reynolds last year… they let arguably their best player leave because they couldn’t pay him what he wanted and relied ona younger player of the future… exactly the same scenario with Hunt and Sullivan. Let’s see which way our management go!!!
