Assistant coach Peter Gentle left weeks ago with the situation described as untenable with Griffin.
Then we had reports that Trent Barrett was in the box seat for a return to the Dragons in 2023 as an assistant.
You know things are bad, when he rejected that thought to accept a position at the Eels.
Nothing to see here folks, the monthly Board meeting continues after a good Chinese feed and then blinkers ON!

We have salary cap issues when we have the likes of Moga, Sharon and Mbye? Now look at the dogs, roosters, Penriff and Souffs squads. we also have a 100 year old coach who couldn’t coach a bus! And a board who have made it so they can never be removed from office! And we sold our souls and merged with another club when we have one of the largest supporter bases and were one of the most successful clubs of all time.

Mbye nextyear saints paying him 400 to 450 ... say bird suli lomax sua close to 2.2 million add hunt 1 mill that gives you 3.6 million in 6 players plus JDB and now over 4 million .. add simms we now go close to 5 mill for 8 players lets even say 4.5 mill ( half the cap ) so 4.5 mill for 22 players
so that averages out at a bit over 200 thou per remaining player ...
that is how we have screwed ourselves by paying overs for too many players no wonder we can only look at bargain buys .. My figures are in no way exact but just shows where we are

Agree...have lost interest...barely watch the NRL anymore...our club shows little ambition in terms of wanting to succeed.
The NRL powerbrokers have their own favourites and that is shown by the poor refereeing and the obvious agendas re suspensions etc...

Who is happy to watch the same 4 teams run up 50 + scorelines... absolute joke and yet the same teams always have money to strengthen their side even further...

Just make it a 6 team comp..and put everyone out of their misery....

They will have a NRL competition comprising 10 teams and another competition for the remaining 7 . A bit like the old Arncliffe Scotts , Wentworthville , Ryde Eastwood etc. etc . sides of yesteryear .

The top team of the lower half , to replace the bottom team of the NRL the following season . I am sure that the tele. conglomerates will be able to fill in the details .

talking about this year ..
next year we dont know what cap is worth BUT more importantly we dont know how much is left - yes we save simms maguire possibly mcullough .. so say swap mcullough for a new hooker gives us say 900 thou ( depending on what maguire was on and if cows contributed )to buy 2 replacement forwards Id say we need at least 1.2 mil in order to replace with quality .. Of course if cap increases it does help us BUT we need to only pay overs to dare I say marquee not every player

UPDATE - Triple M have said that Su’a will join the Dolphins after the Dragons granted a release today

Dragons and Knights couldn’t come to an agreement in regards to Klemmer

Dragons supposedly released him to ease there salary cap situation aswell as the fact his relationship with the coach was untenable
