PLUS .......... The NRL should bring in a new law stating, if a player is found guilty of said charges, thus bring the game into disrepute, he will incur a blanket fine by the NRL direct, of $100,000.00 ( one hundred thousand dollars ) for minor discretions and $250,000.00 plus banned for life, for major discretions.

That should make the silly pr!cks listen.
Hit then hard.

Regarding JDB I thought I would share what I was told today ( take it or leave it )
1. He intends to plead innocent at his hearing ( nothing new there )
2. He wants to and intends to play this season
3. With a innocent plea the Dragons and NRL wont stop him playing
4. If it go's to trial ..Repeat "If " It will more than likely be at the end of the year or early next year ( nothing new there )
5. He is back at training and will play the 2019 season .

Time will tell .

No consideration for his pregnant partner?
Consideration from who though?
If JDB did it, he did a lousy act.
He needs to sort it out with his partner.
It would be terribly hurtful and heart breaking for his partner.

That said, I don't get into the women's weekly, new idea, and gossip magazines discussions that some on this forum enjoy.

No one on this forum know the facts, they need to zip their mouths.

Exacty this and no one knows how good or bad the relationship is between JDB and his partner apart from their pending responsibility for a child..which wont be a 1st. Assumed and actual infedility has been around since....so why are people on this forum going off track taking a moral highground and even judging him or his partner on what is going on there and what is right and wrong when it has nothing to do with the case.
The facts remain..the main issue is the current charge for a crime and pending outcome... guilty or innocent..TBA. When that takes place then it is open slather for comment about that alone... but until that day comes he should be allowed to continue his life in society.privately..and Yes if his employees see fit and are OK with it ...his job.
If his employees thought it best he be stood down and stay out of sight until the result of the trial, that is their decision and I would support it either way but they have'nt...so be it

Wonder what St George Bank and all the other club sponsors think of 3.
Every time he touches the ball or makes a tackle the St George Bank Logo will be front and centre on the TV screen with Rabs/Warren Smith or whoever mentioning again the alleged rapist making a tackle.

The commentators dont give us a great run at the best of times, they will never let something so obvious pass. Perhaps if he got some diabetes it would be better.

It is not about innocence or guilt .. it is about companies making decisions on sponsorship and advertising. Do they want to be associated with this.

There will be a cost.

Not sure if Broncos lost any sponsorship as a result of signing Lodge. I doubt they would have.

Took me a minute to find a print related example:

"I still don't believe it's a good look for our sport when we are so strong against violence against women, violence against children," she told Grandstand.

Grandstand NRL commentator Andrew Moore does not believe Lodge should have been allowed back into the NRL.

"The handling of it has been very questionable and still the majority of people I speak to, including myself, don't feel right about him playing in the NRL before he has paid his debt," he said.

Lodge was booed by spectators at Kogarah Jubilee Oval throughout Thursday night's match, while a knock-on from the front rower early in the first half drew loud cheers from the crowd.

He also threw a pass in the second half that was intercepted by former Bronco Ben Hunt, who ran 50 metres to score a try for the Dragons in his debut appearance for the club.

Havent looked for a video one yet.

Recall Brett Stewart back in 2008 (?) whilst in a very similar situation, was banned from playing until after his court case . Different people were running the game then , David Gallop made the decision and copped plenty of flak for his trouble .

But his view was that the game was bigger than any particular player , as was his obligation to keep it ‘ queaky - clean ‘ . The ban was in place until absolute proof was given , one way or the other.

Are you sure Rufus ? As I was under the impression that the NRL would not allow him to play until after his case went to court . There was some ballyhoo about it in the media at the time , as I remember Manly being pussed-off about the decision.

NOTE :- have just googled it up and you were correct Rufus . The NRL did however banned him for 4 weeks for being drunk at the seasons publicity launch - coincidentally until after the court hearing.
