Let's face it. The only time we will see change at the Board level will be the time that someone buys out our Club. When that happens, the new owners only have to say no to the likes of Young and Doust.

With deep pockets, the new owner could set up our Board with people who wish to find success on and off the field. Wouldn't it be lovely:
Professional and talented Board members.
A new top-grade coaching and fitness staff.
Players taking under to join our squad.

Jack Gosiewski
Poasa Fa’amusili
Jonathan Reuben

have all been released by St George
Interesting as earlier I heard Ford would be gone. With no signings and a skinny back row they are probably trying to keep Burns and Ford or at least 1 of them. I can see us bargain shopping for next year and picking up someone like Herman Ese-Ese and Tommy Talau

I don't blame Illawarra. No way. I used to love watching them play and I would have loved for them to keep going in their own right. It was the only time in the comp that I would say I had a second side that I supported (still wanted Saints to win when they met each other though). As you rightly point out, we won a premiership in 2010. What was different? Great coach and the Board told not to interfere with the management of the footy side.

I think there's no denying that a JV structure must make it extra difficult to run a footy club though.

The rumour is that there's not a snowflake's hope in hell of returning to the good old days though - but a few small changes (at the top) could see it happen in 2023! The great thing about rumours is that they don't need to be supported by facts, just imagination.
It was always was and always will be with me Dragons 1st but i always had a soft spot for the Steelers

Manly has had a poor season and this is what Tony Mestrov, the boss of Manly has said -

"Change was vital after the club’s disappointing finish to the season after they went within a game of the grand final last year and because of the team performance, we have to be open to change."

“The owners want what I want – to have a successful football club, be financially better off and deliver what the fans and board want, which is a successful football team. The dynamics are not working at the moment and that means decisions have to be made."

So this is the sort of direction we need to head towards as well. But we don't have a Tony Mestrov unfortunately and our Board don't appear to give a ...

Ford hasn’t been too bad last 2 games
havent seen burns for a while
both should stay as we have nothing to replace them and they will. E relatively cheap
better options than more of Sharron and Macca but appears where stuck with them

The trouble is they get elevated to NRL and are absolutely terrified to make an error..
if the Coach was to say , unless there is a complete meltdown ,
" you have the next three games to prove your worth to the side " , mite just see better efforts
Ford and Hunt have both been ok the past few games , while Sloan also is showing glimpses of what he is capable of with consistent NRL appearances
Still believe we need a Coach that understands we have many versatile players in our squad , AND HAS TO KNOW HOW TO BEST USE THEM ..
I;m sure Hook is a good bloke etc etc but is he going to take us to the next level ??? that was the reason he was speared from the Panthers....
I would target SLATER ,K WOOLFE or HASLER and throw the Taj Mahal at them
Confident that you would see a completely different and free flowing game plan playing to the sides strengths NOT the tight , no risk , mostly boring style we are currently being directed how to play

Craig Young did a presentation after the match and thanked those players, they gave the game ball to Maguire and Tariq got presented with a frame collage of photos of him in Dragons games.

Back to Rumours, (since there is no predictions post) for the 1st time in my life, I think we will be favourites for the Wooden Spoon 2023.
