Yeh I took Sharks in my tipping. Great read that was.
Seriously what has happened to their defense this year. It has been awful most games except against the Dragons in R4. Oh well the messiah Fitzy has to get onto his defensive coach / coaching.
It is probably Chinless's fault if he handles defense.

Ennis pre game made a comment that chinless was the best defensive coach he has had. He was the defence minister during the GF sharkies won. After that comment he should hand his resignation to Foxtel

If we landed a good coach, I'd say that Hunt would be our run on hooker of given permission to walk. If Hunt walked, then we would have approximately 1m to buy another player or a couple of good first-grade players.

I'd say, Sullivan 6 and Sloan 6 would be our best halves combo with the backup of a couple of our young juniors.

For the remainder of 2023, I would like to see the following players given a chance to cement their place in the following positions;
1. Lomax
2. Lobb
3.. Sulli
4. Feagai
5. Ravalawa
6. Sloan
7. Sullivan
8. F Molo
9. Hunt
10. M Molo
11. Couchman
12. Su'A
13. De Belin

14. Liddle
15. Lawrie
16. Musgrovee
17. Bird

Lomax could be our answer at fullback however, if he does not get the job done then we need to give young Suart a go. The problem is that Stewar's not really ready for first-grade right now.

I also feel that Matt Feagai could do a good job a left-center making way for young Lobb to step up to the left wing.

Our real problem is in the forwards and so, because of this, I'd be happy to see some of our big young forwards be blooded in first-grade this season.

Hook played with Lomax's goal kicking and moved Lomax to the other side of the field and that landed Lomax in reserve grade. So moving Lomax to FB won't work. FB should cover both side of the fields and Lomax can't. Hopefully, Ramsey will come back. So it will be a toss up between Ramsey based on what he showed last year unless Sloan works hard on his defense.

Hunt is our only marquee player. If he wants out and club grants him release, probably will be done in consultation with new coach, then we should be in lookout for another marquee player and we should get compensation (transfer fee) from whoever picks him up. If he wants to stay, it is fine but I think captaincy should go to somebody else.

Mbye is the player that we should not sign. Apparently he is on top dollar around 900k if I am not mistaken. That money can go to another marquee forward. Bird can become our number 14.

If the latter is true I'm devastated. Not just for the future of the Dragons, but because Cody is an outstanding bloke and such a talented footballer. He worked very hard to make it from a small country town like Molong to the big leagues, and unfortunately, his career is being cut short. Usually, I'm against the whole 'old boys' mentality but I'd love to see Cody at least be around training and helping as long as he would like to be.

He worked very hard to make it from a small country town like Molong to the big leagues, and unfortunately, his career is being cut short. Usually, I'm against the whole 'old boys' mentality but I'd love to see Cody at least be around training and helping as long as he would like to be.

Cody is around and helping at training.
Dont write him off for a return next year. It is a still a chance. He was told he had to have 12 months off whilst having to have furthur minor ops. In saying that he has to rebuild his body from scratch

Is tough , takes the ball up strongly and is a good defender
His ball skills could work a treat in the middle of the ruck with Sully , Sloan and Suli against tiring forwards

Since they are aware, they will not deliberately poke the bear by doing something so foolish as to appoint Dragons legend Dean Young to the HC role this early in his career. Since they are aware, they will not deliberately poke the bear by doing something so foolish as to appoint Dragons legend Dean Young to the HC role this early in his career. Surely I am not giving the Board too much credit??
