Just taking a look at all the sydney clubs and their rosters, where their cap would be at, etc. It'll be between us, bulldogs and tigers for his signature you would have to think

Peter Badell reporting he expects Tom Dearden to stay at the Cowboys at around $800k a season. Disappointing if we miss out on him as we aren't going to be getting Mam either, in my opinion we shouldn't touch Luai with a ten foot pole, and we aren't, and that's pretty much all the halves of any real quality for 2025 gone.

That was years ago, he has learnt his lesson
The more likely scenario is that he has tasted success with the Warriors this year and wants to keep that going, wants a Sydney club (Dragons are now a regional club) and remembers being summarily shown the door by the Dragons when still a badly damaged teenager- no second chances.
However, you never know- money may sway him.

If that is all true, I'm already questioning the value of having Young on our staff. I for one was hoping he would bring some quality young players with him from the Cows. Still might happen I suppose but......not a good start.

Flanno did say he was waiting for things like this to happen hence why he did not throw money at players prior to 1 Nov.

This can go either way as he was a Saints junior and has let go because of some off field issue. Now he may be dirty on the club for not supporting him and does not want to go near Saints or he may want to come back to the Saints and finish where it all started. He may think Saints sacking him helped him wake up and mature. I am hopeful of the latter. He may even go back to the Eagles seeing they granted him a release on compassionate grounds.

From memory he was held in high esteem at the Dragons prior to his misdemeanor and was captain of his team so he may feel he let them down for his off field incident which left them with no choice as the Saints sacked him to please the NRL like they always try to do.

Does anyone know where his family are located? If in Wollongong then Saints are a huge chance. He started his juniors there so they may live in the area unless they all moved when he went to Manly.

Come on Flanno, make it happen. If he gets him, AFB will to Saints like Gallen was to the Sharks under Flanno. Great leader from the front.

No way we pay 1.2m for Manu. He made 79 missed tackles last year, his stats in defence are worse then Lomax and avg metres per game are less. I guarantee the roosters are playing the same game some suggest flanno is. Drive his price up so we pay overs and get welsby to take over from tedesco. They are alot smarter then we are. I would prefer dearden any day of the week. Lomax will improve massively under flanno, if we pay over 1mill for Manu we are screwed he is no Edwards not even close
Manu is in the top 3 players in the world .. fact

Manly can't afford him, their salary cap is absolutely shot. 3 players in their top 30 take up about 1/3 of their cap. Plus they're about to throw that ridiculous upgrade at Haumole, and have Schuster on about 800k, whilst Brooks is on about 600k.
