Would also show the managers and player's market place that Flanagan means business.
I have moved on from Manu and Dearden as both will be staying put at their current respective clubs.

If Benji comes to the table offering him big $$$, I doubt Flanagan would get into a bidding war, and would let him walk.

I think that may depend on the way it was managed at the time.

We need a strong middle forward like Addin. In attack he can break the first line of defence and once he breaks free he has some speed in him to gain a significant amount of ground. I liken him to a young version of Andrew Fifita who under Flanno did wonders at the Sharks.

Good coaches generally have a formula or method in how they use certain players and I think Flanno has this in him to get our players playing out of their skin.

Try scoring attack as a team is something that the Dragons have lacked in many years, except for some individual brilliance like with Dufty, we need our attack to be 100% better than what we had under Mary and especially Hook

I don’t. I want to have a coach/ team who always talks up when there is a good player available to sign. Rather than the shit we’ve been dished up for years about bringing up these shit Illawarra juniors whilst gun players sign with the likes of the roosters and bulldogs. Keep it up Flanno. Make St George great again

This is the other piece of the puzzle.. he has 3 full years remaining @1mill per season.. he's asking a lot to be let go immediately..

AFB played under Young in the juniors so it looks like Dean Young may lure a big fish if not from Nth Qld maybe NZ to the Dragons.

He may even bring back Big Luciano from the Cowboys as he has also played under Dean Young in the juniors @ Saints. If Saints get Luciano and AFB that will be a huge improvement in the forwards for 2024.

Brent Read mentioned today that the Cowboys recently rejected a club that was flat out ready to pay full freight (750k) for Luciano.. I assume it was us.. but they declined.. he seemed rly surprised cause their cap is in real strife and tbh they have heaps of talented 2nd rowers.. if we cant get him there are other kind we should be able to squeeze instead I would hope.. would be nice if Deano did us a solid there.. he would know which ones to target & might have some pull...

It's just PR though and its nothing new. It's back to the old Doustie days - he even used one of Doust's classic lines: "we're always interested in quality players".
