I have to say I have been very impressed with Kyle Flano and his game management

his defence super solid

I think he will continue his role of left side and working with our forwards in attack in the early hit ups

he and Ben Hunt seemed to really compliment each other against the wahs

maybe we are seeing enough with Kyle and Hunt for 2025 and 2026 also
I mean they play like on the weekend every week then we will have nothing to talk about lol

there was two plays that didn’t come off by flano but he was almost straight thru and or cut out pass next time
Yep. I thought he'd be good - and he is!

JDB is easily our best forward - undervaluing or not retaining him would be a bad mistake.
He's been good and played his role well - and adds much better value off the bench. Best he's played since the shameful trouble he got himself into off the field....
To say he's been our "best forward" though is a bit of a stretch. One of the best I'll grant you. The best? Nope.

Flanno said the same thing- his son's good defence and kicking game is allowing Hunt the freedom to run more and we all know that is when he is at his most dangerous. That try of his against the Warriors was just incredible strength- I doubt any other current NRL half-back scores that.

Agree 100% but still think Hunt has not bought into it 100%
The more we win - and Hunt bloody enjoys the win - the more he will trust young Flanno's ability to give him such opportunities.

A win win for everyone

Wouldn't it be sensational to win on Anzac Day and even to give the gummy sharks a run for their money,or even to beat them the next 2 games are going to tell us a lot about this year GO THE BIG RED V
Just one game at a time thanks..dont start bringing Maryism's into it. I still remember his look ahead into 4 game blocks and how they should go or where they should be...blah blah

Good point..we did bomb or squander a couple of real opportunities if we let the ball zing or find the right last pass, more so in the 2nd half when they were gonski!

Was thinking the same myself. As well as everything you've mentioned I've been surprised at his mobility around the field. Normally you'd worry about a player getting out of position when he moves that much but he usually seems to be in the right place at the right time.

It's early days yet but if he nails down a long term halves spot that could well be one less recruitment headache for us and we could spend the money on a top class hooker instead which would be cheaper than a top class half.
