Sign RCG and Safiti and have a prop rotation of these two props plus F Molo and Couchman. If Lawrie does not like reserve-grade, his manager will find another gig for him.
Safiti and Stefano both on show tonite
Wouldnt sign the cheque for DS just yet.Painfully slow and ineffective
Young Stefano....If Flanno could get him to believe he is bigger faster and stronger than anyone else , we could have potentially one of the best Props in recent times

The Feagai twins didn't perform well last year and were sent to reserve grade by Flanagan at the start of this year, and apparently put up for release at the start of the season.

The Couchman twins did not perform well in the pre-season trial games and were also sent to reserve grade.

I'm guessing they were given objectives to work on by Flanagan, parts of their game they needed to improve to be considered for first grade.

All 4 of them seem to have come back improved, and played well when given their chance. Whether it's down to clever man-management from Flanagan, exceptional reserve grade coaching, or mental strength from the individuals involved, I'm not sure.

However I'm really pleased to see all of them improving under our current coaching system.

Only watched the first half but Coooky killed it in the first 40 today for the bunnies

everything started with him
We have a ready made centre to replace Lomax. The name is Damien Cook. He played really well in that position last night against the Tigers and kicked goals to boot.

No, he would be great if whoever gets picked at centre for next year goes off injured and he is in the 17 to shift from hooker to centre. A much better option than Matt Eisenhuth.

I think that’s a big part of why he was recruited to give us much better cover off the bench in the event of injury, as you said when Eisenhuth played in the centres we were flogged.

I think the Huth at centre was a gamble that didn't pay off but we have since seen that Sua can and has done a fine job there.

He has the lateral movement required in defence that the Huth lacks...

Dragons have dropped out of race for Utoikamanu, so forget him as an option.

Yep thought we had too , but app our offer for him was much higher , than in particular , to the Storm .
After watching Safiti yesterday would be terribly nervous if were considering overs for him .....
I must say that I don't envy Flanno having to decide on the best choice of Props the club should be earnestly chasing.

To me we need a guy who isn't afraid to run at the opposition players like a bull at a gate in both attack and defence and put the fear into them and not run sideways but straight up the middle.

Are there any on the market and happy to join this wonderful club?

I don’t see that much upside in going for Safiti. He just looks a tall log compared to Lawrie as a fat log.

I’m not convinced he’s the alpha prop we need!
I had mixed thoughts watching him yesterday. There were times I was unimpressed and others when he showed some decent leg drive and ability to offload. Room to improve with fitness and better coaching - I have never understood why Newcastle have persisted so long with OBrien - he's a dud coach in the McGregor mould if I ever saw one.
With Newcastle chipping in a good part of his salary Daniel S will probably be useful. Anything with a pulse is an upgrade on Lawrie.

Isn’t it cool when Kotoa and Blore come out of the wilderness / join the Storm/ cheap / find their edge and deliver impact and lead all stats in the win against the Roosters

it almost seems inconceivable doesn’t it ????
How often does that club do it Auntie, getting no names from other clubs and turning them into stars.

Flanno needs the raw materials.. DSaifiti with some work and a fresh start.. I think hes a big improvement over Lawrie at the mimimum.. although I understand hes not the AFB/NAS signing we all wanted.

NAS seems like hes gonna be very hard to pin down with the whole rugby option also.. if the Storm sign Stefano.. maybe..

It doesnt help that we have this run of brutal games coming, im expecting to be humbled.
