As did I at hurstville cop shop I was lucky enough to be in the first year of p plate licenses, the cops were tough on us in those days, it only took me 4 years to finally get my full license but to be fair in my defense to this day I still think the cops use to wait for me in my boot
In my test a car cut me off and tried to put me off the road. I was aware and able to miss them and come to a controlled stop.
ibthink the test was over then, didn’t matter from then on.

Apparently Gutho not keen on travelling from Manly to Wollongong. Damn.
I'm over hearing about this travel bullshit and so on, move to the f$#king gong and increase your property portfolio, if its only three years you can then go back to your beloved northern beaches and sell the property at a hefty little profit. Whenever I hear of reasons like this, of course if he did actually say it, it makes me wonder why we would chase someone who has no desire to come to the club and comes up with crap not to go there. I'm really hoping this is not the case.

Me too. It's good to see we've got the younger players in our squad like Loko & Halangahu moving to Wollongong. If we were a good team then travel wouldn't be an excuse. They'd move to the shire at the very least. I don't think we NEED Gutho but he would be a very good addition.

Totally agree mate, in todays world and what they are getting paid, travel should not come into it, anyone who uses the travel card as an excuse is a total and utter wanker, and utterly dicking the club around.

Ok, if we can just take a breath, Parra haven't released him, they have just allowed him to talk to rivals and see what happens. Have we heard from Gutho that he doesnt like what Parra are trying to do, or that he wants to come to the Dragons ? He could back himself , play at Parra for another $950k next year and possibly Parra offer him a new role for a couple of years. I really would just love it for once to hear a player say that he would love to go to the Dragons. Would there still be takers for him in a years time ? possibly,,,,,
Players will only say that once they have signed on.

Surely the Gordons have some real estate in the Gong they can put him up in for 3 years, oh wait they don’t give a shit & offer nothing.
A lot will depend on if he has a wife, kids at school etc

Seen it on the twitter. Could be total bs but I assume he'd have to move to the gong or shire if he wants to play for us because travelling from Manly to WIN would be cooked, especially at his age.
I am sick to death of all this bullshit garbage about players not wanting to travel to Wollongong. You know what guys, the first thing that our recruitment staff and/or Flanno should ask blokes before they get into the nitty gritty of signing up with us is - "Would driving to the Gong be a problem?" If they say yes, then stop any further talks and tell all and sundry that the Dragons are not interested in the guy and put an end to any further speculation.

If Gutho has a problem then stop any further talks. It is a joke. If guys are keen to join us they can rent their own place out and rent a place in the Gong for the period they are signed to the club. What have others done? What about Cook? He probably has a house in the Eastern Suburbs or thereabouts when he played for Souths for 9 years. He now has to either drive to the Gong from his house or as I said, rent his out and lease one in the Gong. I am sure the club have got their contacts. I remember working in a real estate office west of Parra and I arranged for a house to be available for Parra Leagues to rent it on behalf of players - no probs and all easy. Any damage etc., the Club pays for it.

Anyway, for the club to have a smooth year or years, they need all of the players, their partners, their wives, their families to be happy being part of the St George Illawarra Dragons for success to be occur and be ongoing.

Very true Dave, I dont know how any NRL player these days can expect to be at the one club all of his career. Very few and far between. As I said before this nonsense of travel and moving your family around, should be expected. Getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars per year should be more than enough compensation. I dont seem to recall Melbourne ever mentioning that players dont want to go there, whats it going to be like in PNG !!!

It’s really not that hard if you get organised, i moved from Ballina to Sydney in 2015 at the age of 24. I lined up a job first, gave my months notice organised a rental in Beverly Hills, packed a car of essentials put it on a truck sent it down. Finished my job on the Friday, played my Rugby Union semi final on the Saturday packed 20kg of luggage flew down Sunday night & started the new job on Monday stayed in a hotel for 2 nights while i collected furniture in the afternoons to take to the rental within a week i was set up. Understandably i had no kids or wife at the time but i was young & had no idea what i was getting into. If you organise yourself its not that difficult

Trust me he would have all the support for his wife and kids from the club he could ever need. They have people there specifically to look after the families best interest
