I've been rewatching a lot of those old games and I had forgotten just how good Rocket Rod Reddy was. He jagged a few man of the matches playing in the green and gold. He was so quick and skilful
…..and strong and tough and clever and intelligent and brutal…………..
If we had Reddy in our pack next year, I’d confidentially put us in the top 4!

The Club is very selective when it comes to Hunt for 2025

Will only accept a swap they deem suitable for the club

I don’t expect that swap for Addo - Carr to go ahead as Addo - Carr already has an interest in joining the club and the club doesn’t need to free up cash

I still believe it is all hinging on Dan Atkinson
This is why I think it will drag on for 3-4 weeks atleast.. Hunt has been on the market for months, but the intensity has gone up now 'its official'.. so we can start talking numbers and having real conversations with other clubs.

But unless we happen to luck out with a like for like swap that Flanno is happy with.. which is incredibly unlikely.. it may have to wait until we can find a replacement.. Atkinson is definitely a maybe, but it would need the sharks to actually agree to an early release... lot of ifs and buts in there... so many places it all falls over.

Atkinson would be cheap and only needs a two year contract. Got to save our pennies for a prop.

They should be interested. What’s the actual plan? Sit around and rue another season before it begins. Appalling.
I think this is just another way of saying that if a team wants Hunt, then they are going to have to have something substantiative to offer back. I'm still of the opinion he goes before we start preseason, and it would be preferential for him to go.

Roosters I would suggest have plenty of cap space available for next year given the high profile players that are leaving yet not a peep out of the press that I have read of who they are after. However it makes the press that the Dragons are after a bloke with 3 ACL operations. Is it the Roosters keeping everything quiet, uncle Nick telling the press to not report anything in case the deal falls through or others come in and bump the price up? Player managers told by Roosters to not say anything to the press otherwise deal is off? Am I reading too much into this?

No mate I think you are spot on, the Dragons have always been an easy mark for Drama and innuendo, mind you we often bring this upon ourselves with some of the stupid things we do.

Not really
the power of the roosters owner, board and influence they have on the NRL power brokers and in general the game so PM’s and media need that club on their side
Our board and GM of football pose no fear to anybody except future player or other club employees so we get treated that way

This is 100% spot on. Its the Roosters MO. They get their journo henchmen to do their dirty work.

Flanno - hold firm.

Strength & Honour!

Spot on and agree
We don’t want be significantly out of pocket because we overpay him and can’t get a player worth his current salary in return
I am sure the club can accept a small negotiation $$ to chip in max $100-$150 out of pocket part for 1 yr
But no other club will fork out 900k + for him next year
If we are at a net loss of say 500K just to offload him then we are better off having him + we still have to pay swap player

Hunt's contract for 2025 will start in November, meaning if he isn't released by November 1, Dragons will have already chipped in for his contract for 2025 season - same as all players, but an interesting time line to keep an eye on
