Flanno was pretty clear that Gutho is our main target.. but words like 'if he wants to leave parra' (even though he already has permission to leave).. is a pretty clear his hearts not fully committed to leaving...

tbf Clint has done 10yrs of commuting from Mona Vale -> Parra, so hes obviously decided he aint moving.... now I used to live on the beaches in my youth, and its quite a commute up Mona Vale Rd... but its achievable.. but Wollongong is a whole nothing story.. I am sure we could come up with a way to make it work.. a chauffeured limousine + a Batchelor pad with Lodgey or something.. but he has to emotionally be ready to leave, or its no beuno for saints.

Gutherson has got a contract with Parramatta for 2025, and may well choose to see out his time there.
JAC wants a 3 year deal, but the Dragons are only prepared to offer a 2 year deal.
I cannot see or understand how you can say the Dragons have messed up with either deal.

I would believe that. Probably only $500k on the cap though and then a ridiculous $300k third party.

If this is true, more power to Flanno to negotiate a deal that suits us and if not, walk away and f**k the dogs right up. I'll take the consequences next year and that's a win for me.

way back when every club was after Michael Cronin i think it was parra that made the offer to helicopter him in from geringong, if our board gave up the drink one day a week problem solved

If my memory serves me correctly that was back when JAC and his manager were trying to sell him as a fullback. Plus Bulldogs were desperate to land someone. You only need one club (like the Tigers or Bulldogs a few years back) who are so desperate to land someone that they fork out idiotic money.
Despite this the regular couple of moaners on here will continually sook that we haven't signed anyone on overs and still bag out Flanno for holding his ground and making sure the long term success of the squad is more important than paying overs for a player or giving them too long a deal just to get the deal over the line.

Gutho Must be a priority from 25 not 26 ....
Cant handle another battered year at Parra
JAC 2 year only
No mention in the Flanno interviews re signing some hard nosed props , although most believe Lodge is a done deal
Still hoping we have a real crack at Thompson or the Tigers youngster Pole
Vunivalu would be a good get at a suitable price

I dont doubt that at all. When he was signed it was trumpeted that he was signed to play fullback. More to the point he would've been signed on fullback money.

was curious how long a contract JAC would be after.. 2yrs seems reasonable.. not horrified by 3 if the dollars werent crazy.. hes 29.5 when next season kicks off.. only issue is if his injuries continue to degrade.

Flanno loves this though when he has all the power... as BigRig mentioned though.. his love of winning deals means we can easily miss all of them.. he has balls of steel, but im at a loss as to how hes going to spend our salary cap if we dont get atleast 1 of Gutho and JAC.. and im sure we could afford 2.

The talk about only being able to get 1 of them is just paper talk and Flanno keeping his cards to his chest. If we get Gutho and JAC is happy with the 2 years, we'll get both. But Flanno won't budge on some things. I doubt he'll give JAC 3:years.
