This is beyond dysfunctional.

The coach wants to persevere with a captain who is taking swipes at the coach’s son and embroil another tired legs player from the Eels who doesn’t even want to come here.

Mite the mess of all messes.

Cheers for the link. Flanno said all the right things from a club perspective.
I read the article.

He didn't shower Hunt with praise and didn't shy away from Hunts comments, but made it sound like it's " business as usual".

The way i view his statements, " Ben... it's your call ". I think he's trying to extract as much out of this failed marriage as he can. I'll back Flanno here. My guess is , Hunt wont be a Dragon next year.

This is the only sane conclusion from this sorry mess. Flanno can't hope to put the genie back in the bottle and talk as if we're all misinterpreting the negativity emanating from Hunt in particular and that there is a good relationship between Hunt, Flanno and the club in general for 2025.

Cut Hunt loose but if possible, try to get something for his services- if not, still let him go. He's a disease infecting the club.
If we could cut Hunt with no freight it would be a god send.

Like when we had BMoz and Tingha before that. Those two only needed a sniff and it was trying time. How I miss having speed in our backline......
1. Darius
2. BMoz
3. Gaz
4. Cooper
5. Nightingale (not incredibly quick, but quicker than most thought and could find the tryline).
6. Sowie
7. Hornby ....... reasonably quick for a half.
Wow. So much speed there.
Soward probably the fastest.

Clint Gutherson isn't running on tired legs. He played with a leg injury and a rib injury this last season. Nothing that an off season can't fix. As for not wanting to come, he obviously would have preferred to finish his career at Parra, but I'm sure that if he decides to join us, he will give it everything. He is that type of player. He competes and wants to win and he is a very smart leader. Just what we need.
Well, get it done then. Hardly a sought after prospect but alas nothing forthcoming from our club.

It sounds as dysfunctional and untenable as ever including the COVID bbq and no shows at awards night. No way this can lead to anything good for us. Sit hunt on the sidelines for a year and be done with it.

You guys should have punted Hunt last year and spent his money on a marquee player who bleeds red and white. I reckon Moses would have been a good fit but I think there's a few on here who wouldn't agree with that.
Good ½ backs are hard to find though.

We have discussed a few halves here but it is funny how few there are who can organize and kick and take the odd run. Is it something to do with the junior game? Moses is contracted with Parra until end 2026. He is 30 y.o. so he might play another five years. His price to move would be excessive. We need someone now who we can rely on for three years or longer until current juniors are ready.

A sook. But I agree with him on one thing - the situation is now untenable. Flanagan put his faith in Ben and he couldn’t fire in the run into finals. So unlike the last two coaches, Shane doesn’t let it slide and gives him a piece of his mind. Instead of stepping up, Hunt now wants to run and hide.
There’s only one immediate solution of sorts. Sit. Him. Out.

better yet, let him run around in reserves.

Thanks scoop.. 😊 hindsight is a wonderful thing but we had no one else and the spoon you received would of likely gone to us
Speaking of hindsight why did you guys let Moses go?.. and Teddy.. and Stefan and…

Your last statement is spot we need to hold our ground and nerve here which we will.
We need to come out of this financially on top.
Let the other clubs and his manager panic to sign him if they get an inkling that we won’t budge
