Just get it done
This bargaining over money with Gutho's agent plus the possible Douehi signing appears to be classic Flanno. He will not pay overs and he will not take risks with overly long contracts. Douehi for two years, they say. Well it won't be on $350k, that is for sure. JAC wants $500k for three years? Flanno just laughs. He does not have access to endless paper bags like some other clubs do.

There are still a couple of silly contracts to move on, Laurie and Rava, and then JDB, RFM, and maybe Eisenhuth in 2025 are in their last year...Noone ever said it, but our roster was in quite a mess, with no direction or planning. Flanno is tidying it up.

Agree with RFM and TE ...Need to really lift in 2025 as the new blood and youngsters are snapping at their heels
JDB has carried the load of at times a struggling forward pack lacking depth
Was arguably our best and most consistent forward this season , so forcing him down the plank maybe a tad premature

I can see why that would create much disharmony within the playing group, which is counterproductive to good results on the field, but hey, 'it takes two to tango'.

I'd be happy for Terrel as a Dragon recruit if the above was the case. It not comparable to his brother's actions.
Perhaps he can wear a chastity belt :)

Gambling debts are a bigger issue, borrowing from teammates or making stupid decisions to cover debts (Think Tim Simona or Ryan Tandy) This would need much more consideration
I'm more concerned with Terrel May's commitment to the game as he has publicly stated that he is not that motivated by the game...

It's a tricky one with guthos 3rd year.. I think offering a 3rd year is generous and a show of faith, but I assumed it wouldn't be top dollar.. Bit like foran in his final year.. Or Reynolds..

Here we are though, we need him, and he needs us.. I dunno how they sort this stuff out cause it's a bit late to be playing any hard ball pull out games for either party.

I may be wrong, but with what has transpired over the past couple of days, I think it's a formality. Parras announcement, Flannos commentary re Gutho, and as you rightly point out both parties here have a lot to lose playing hard ball.

Anyway, I believe he will be a Dragon as I really want him to be a leader at a Club that needs leadership.

If the NRL’s No Fault Stand Down Policy/Rule provides that a player that has been charged with an offence that could lead to a maximum sentence of 11 or more years, then player will be stood down. Eg Jack DeBelin.
It is reported that Esra Mam recent incident would likely come with a charge that has a maximum sentence of 14 years.
Be interesting to see if he is stood down or can somehow receive a lesser charge. 🤔

All Flanno’s paper bags have sandwiches in them

Agree!

My Parra supporting mate texted last night saying “Good pickup”. He is usually a pretty good judge and not backward in saying otherwise if he thought a player isn’t a good pick

Yah I think Trindall signing quickly is good for us.. I never thought we were a hope with him, he said he owed the club.. and hes as sure a bet as they have for 2025.. which should be a big year with AFB onboard.

The qn is whether they would release Atkinson early.. tbh they have plenty of 1s/6s/7s in their system.. but if they dont need Atkinson gone.. maybe they make him stay... Atkinson should be agitating for more 2025 money though.. we will likely double his salary if he is on rookie wages currently.
