Definitely, my view is clubs panicked when the Dolphins came into the competition & all a player manager had to say was there was interest from them & we like others signed players on longer term deals than they should have to keep them. Lawrie & Rav are perfect examples of that. But i do agree with your last comment at least we have Flanno to deal with what he was handed when he took over.

I think Blake will improve now Zac has left, wether it's good enough for where the Dragons are heading is another thing though.
Rava is a monster when he returns the ball and when he's close to the try line, it's just everything else that needs serious coaching. If they can both get their heads in the game they do give us depth.
Agree but a headache in cap $$ used as are overpaid especially Lawrue who was on the fringe of a Blues jersey so they thought
In 2012 we chose to extend another Hunt reportedly 400K a year on potential as a local junior but to forego a Scott.. fact
We have recent history of dumb decisions.. another fact

Tough year for Blake on the field, and remember the distractions. Not talking about Zac, remember he just got married so maybe his focus was elsewhere ? Then he was at the hospital supporting his mate Cody more than anyone else.

regardless what happens he gas the right mental approach and love for the club, and I think he will come good again. I’ll trust Flanno to sort it out, and it’s fine if he moves him on or keeps him. Regardless I’ll not rubbish the guy even if I eected a lot more in 2024

personally I’d prefer him to Lodge.

Hindsight is wonderful. Lawrie was probably our best forward when he re-signed and was linked to the Rabbitohs and Dolphins. Rava was also our best winger at the time, was (and still is) young and resigning him made sense then. Of all our the clubs ineptitude, I don't blame them much for resigning these two - they simply just don't fit in with Flanagan's style of play now.
Flanagans style of play?
That is generous now and I was a Lawrie supporter 2 Years ago to people bagging him thinking he is maturing now and was impressed by his efforts etc
The game is changed again and other
NRL clubs.. well we could not get any takers

It's up to him now, he has the contract. A big offseason and good form in the trials is all up to him how much does he want to be a dragon? Time will tell

Sorry to disagree, but Lawrie has Never been our best forward. He can't tie Debellin's or Sua's boot laces. I am still in shock how he was awarded player of the year in 2023.

I’ve heard some murmurs that Addo Carr is meeting with Flanno in the coming days
It does seem like we have interest, but im fascinated which player(s) we are going to be able to move on.

Also wonder whether may is a remote possibility, because he is a whole lot more coin than any other forward we sign for 2025.. So if we miss him we have cash to spend.

I do worry that all recruits, bar resigning the twins, are in the backs.

Sure, but that backline! At worst, Kyle, LKT, Suli, Holmes, JAC, Nathan Lawson, Gutho.

And there is almost certainly a new half to come.

In the meantime, all that stands between us and a couple of new high quality middles is an AVO, a drink driving charge, or a photo of a player with some white powder on Facebook. Bcs we'll take him!

Is Sione Finau likely to go to the Eels? If he is that would be a shame. I like what I see of him on the highlights reel - even though its KOE Cup games but he does look good, strong and athletic and pretty fast.

Interesting that so far I haven’t seen any pics or vids of Sione Finau training with the rest of the young crop
I saw him in the club video, nothing is a lock, but he is the starting winger if he stays..

Yes, has some ability. And as you say, strong, like an edge. Dragging tacklers along.
