Don't forget Ilias, he could turn out just as valuable as any of them...Cook, Gutherson, Holmes & Atkinson. Well done Dargs - it's been a while since I could say that for real
cheque book, can't remember the last time i used one, giving your age away ol felaIt is indeed tremendous news for our club , of course the sharks - as already mentioned by others - have that 10 day period where they can talk the kid around .
However for mine , you do not sign a contract with another club unless your mind is well and truly made-up .
He may have very well decided that his future lies in greener pastures rather than playing 2nd or 3rd string at Cronulla and any financial inducement made at this late stage by Fitzgibbon will not suffice as having a guaranteed starting position at 5/8 .
Regardless how it turns out , it was a well planned sting made by Flanagan that now has those nasty leg biters running for cover and their cheque book .
Well done Mr Flanagan ! ,
They absolutely can match it if they decide to not re-sign Kennedy for 2026.It will be totally up to Atkinson to get over his manager. The scum won’t be able to match the Dragons offer. Fitz and Atkinson have the same manager so I dare say Fitz would have known this was coming. I feel fairly secure that Flanno has played this perfectly.
This really would be the icing on the cake if it happens but rumours are he wants to play under grandfather Bennett but time will tell.So are we
He obviously loves a chinese feed & has to get a prospect along so someone else pays for it !Gus meets with everyone
The money they can match but permanent five eight that's a different kettle of fish..........They absolutely can match it if they decide to not re-sign Kennedy for 2026.
Yeah they'll have to put Nico at fullback, potentially upsetting himThe money they can match but permanent five eight that's a different kettle of fish..........
He is already told the club he is gojngThey absolutely can match it if they decide to not re-sign Kennedy for 2026.
It hurts some of these reporters to write a 100% positive story about the Dragons. They twist every bit of news to find a negative or 2 in what should be a 100% positive story. Especially Weidler and the Mole (Tony Adams). Those two oxygen thieves hate us.He is already told the club he is gojng
Why would he do that if he is waiting for them to match the offer
They had time before it was announced if he wanted to stay to say “Dragons offered me X? What say you”?
Just because Fifita did it and the 10 day cool is available
doesn’t mean he’s thinking of waiting for sharks to come back. He’s made his decision.
Fifita did not know what he wanted. It was Penrith done then Roosters announced then wait there..
It’s just a media beat up to throw that in to add more excitement to it.
Why with all the recent signings in the last 6 months the media have not trotted out the “wait there” 10 day cooling of story?”
I recall paying our 1st home off with the final payment made by cheque to the Rural Bank of N.S.W.cheque book, can't remember the last time i used one, giving your age away ol fela
They would have done this already without it going to the 10day cooling off. Fitz would have known about this for a while now. They absolutely can match it if they decide to not re-sign Kennedy for 2026.
Totally agree. Fafita was more of an embarrassment thing in the way Titans had looked after him. The media were right on his case. Look at Lomax even though slightly different he had every reason to backflip and didn’t. The Sharks are doing Atkinson no favours. The Dragons are offering him a starting position and more money. Do you think his manager is going to advise him to stay. I’d be highly surprised if he stayed and I would without a doubt be questioning what brown paper bags have been exchanged in the process. He is already told the club he is gojng

100% Gareth.I recall paying our 1st home off with the final payment made by cheque to the Rural Bank of N.S.W.
Yes the the cheques are now a thing of the past , as is the bank itself .
Good post D.D. I do recall the building and it looked so modern and it did take me back to those years , life was so simple then and enjoyable .100% Gareth.
In between the rumours we oldies like to reflect back over the time when we were young at heart, just out of school and starting work. One of the things I had to do was open up a bank account so that I could deposit my pay into it - feeling all grown up.
In those days the banks, well mine was the Commonwealth Bank of Australia situated on the corner of Liverpool and Castlereagh Streets, Sydney South opposite what is now the Dowling Centre Courts and I used to work above the bank in an office environment for the government. The bank was always busy. It was an open office where you could see all of the many staff sitting behind the counters occupied by the tellers and enquiry staff. I can remember having to queue up at one of about 4 tellers hoping that your line would move along quickly so that you can get out and have a counter lunch at the nearby pub. I tended to pick the wrong line most times. It took ages for the queuing system to change to a roped off one line affair.
Security at the banks was non-existent and yes there were the hold ups all over the place which brought about more stringent security measures.
One thing that I was so glad to open was a cheque account because by having such an account you could make stacks of payments by filling out the cheque, signing it and crossing it with the words "not-negotiable" and putting into an envelope with the butt of the bill and bob is your uncle. Little did I and anyone else know at the time that future processing of payments would become more streamlined and now we have online banking - easy peasy stuff. But back in the day it was what it was and it made me feel important and in 50 years time what will the kids of tomorrow have to do to pay for things? Your guess is as good as mine.
